Mary is a shit coach but the players they threw those games away with sheer stupidity.
Have to agree, he never kicked 1 ball dead to give away 7 tackles nor did he fail to find touch.
Got me stuffed though how much balls keeps going to Mc Crone now that I can blame him for.

Funny. Under a good coach those mistakes are certainly less common.

I'll bet a under a good coach, this team would be higher on the ladder by virtue of having won those games.

That loss to Newcastle is a complete example of crap coaching. They were complacent and lost. And the first victory over the knights is a perfect indicator of this which I'll also bet contributed to that second loss.

I'll try again. Lies, damned lies and statistics.

When did those errors occur, against which teams, and what pressure?

Under the lies, I mean statistics, you produce, we should be challenging for the title. And we're not. Indeed we're a long, long way from genuinely doing that under this muppet of a coach.

I will tell the NRL that the data on their website is incorrect just to appease you if you like.

Interesting article in yesterday's SMH (can't upload link) re Brad Arthur. Obviously, this is a guy with an extensive and successful CV, ranging from junior football at Bateman's Bay and Queensland through to winning a Toyota Cup with Melbourne and assistant coach under Craig Bellamy. A gold plated apprenticeship. Now he has the Eels in the top four and an outside chance of going all the way after surviving the previous board, a couple of whom are now facing serious charges. Contrast this with our coaching team, none of whom have been outside the old boys'club or served an apprenticeship under a significant first grade coach (McGregor not wanted by Bennett). If the rumor is true that Arthur rejected an approach by our management a couple of years ago due to not having enough control over recruitment, etc it is a disgrace. Arthur is a dictator in the mould of Bellamy, and the article makes some interesting points about discipline, attitude, etc which have relevance to our situation and is worth a read.

Some nice points, but this bit stood out for me.

Remember Price? He served such an apprenticeship.

Bennett is an enigma when it comes to sucession planning. Ivan Henjac at the Broncos, Rick Stone at the Knights and of course our own immortal Steve Price were given the kiss of death by The Master. I don't know if this was a result of a deliberate strategy by Bennet but I do remember years ago in my work place being told by a chief executive in an "in vino veritas" moment that you never appoint a deputy who could be a future rival for your position.

That makes sense.

Wonder how it will pan out with Demetriou,
