We are not communicating.
The object of the game is to win Premierships.
We are tanking - or can't you see that?
This is year 5 of McGregor's coaching methods.
It doesn't matter if we bow down to him for every win he presides over.
The only thing that matters is winning the comp.
The age old debate over whether players win premierships or coaches do will rage on regardless but I think most debaters will concede it needs a bit of both.
What I am seeing are symptoms of 2016 and 2017 with the difference being we will probably make the finals this year because we started so well.
McGregor still has plenty of time to turn things around.
If the players have confidence in him, they will lift and follow him into the finals.
Let's see

Exactly. Let's see. What my main point is is that people are ALREADY pulling the trigger on Mary before the normal season has even finished, and before the finals have even started. Thats premature.

Yes, Mary has had 5 years of coaching...4 of those was with a team he was basically given. This year he before the season started he said he has the team he wants for the first time. So this year is the real deal in terms of what he can deliver. But if people's success/failure judgement of Mary is whether or not we win a premiership this year, perhaps that's a little black or white.

I think lot of people need to lay down their guns, take a deep breath, be a little less emotional after a loss, and then make judgements when the season is over. This slamming Mary after a loss but hardly any praise after a win is immature

I Just think tonight confirmed we can't win a comp with McGregor as coach.

Thanks, Mrs McGregor.

We have seen that Mary can coach a team off to a good start to the season, but when the rest of the league gets started, he is out of ideas. The difference this year is that they won some games in the middle of the year against bad sides with some individual brilliance that had nothing to do with the coach.

5 days after the end of grueling rep footy, we are flat, and you have a crystal ball and know exactly how the rest of the year will pan out. Fair enough.

You obviously didn't watch the press conference because it is very easy to deduce where we will end up after listening to it.

I haven't given up. Sure, they were flat. I am just still waiting for a reason to believe Mary can lead them to be true contenders. Who knows, maybe they can get on a run going into the finals behind some individual brilliance and momentum, or maybe the forwards will somehow get their early season legs back under them. I think many fans are simply waiting and wanting for the Dragons to give the appearance that they are a structurally well coached and well-selected side.

Lets see how we go mate. The cohesiveness we had earlier this year may not be gone for good... By the way, where did it go do you think?

Same thing happened in 2011 didn't it... Our form just dropped and we had nothing...must've been Bennett's fault.

The cohesive play we had earlier this year, like games vs Storm and Anzac Day. Where did it go?

As has been a few times under Mary, that was the peak! The grand final. The big games. The May/June premiership trophies that Saints seem to win a lot of lately. The side looked extra good this year, because of Graham and Hunt. Then came Origin and here we are.

I truly hope they figure it out. Unfortunately, Saints don't have a coach that is able to say "JDB, you can use a week off. We need you in September, mate", or "Florence, sit out this week, we need another forward on the bench". These type of things come back to bite you. We also know, Mary hasn't shown a plan B strategy wise, pretty much ever.

I think they will beat the Cowboys in a close one, then hopefully they start to get their legs back and scrape into the top four and turn it on in the finals.

Year and years and years of this total rubbish against team we should easily beat.
When is this going to stop?

McGreagor has proved himself, time and time again, totally incapable of getting the team up for big games.
And when I say "big games" I mean games we should and need to win.
It's just not in him.

Wherever we finish this season we will not win a finals match with the attitude he passes onto the team.
