Is it actually the club looking to extend good old boy Mc Fookknuckle’s contract or is it his manager asking for a 2 year extension?
The club can easily sit on its hands as he has nowhere to go.

OV, 2018 was a pretty good year. I reckon next year will be better.
You can't rush success mate, just be patient, we will get there.

Yep, sounds like his Manager’s doing his job that’s all. You would hope that an extension wouldn’t be considered until late next season when we (he) traditionally fades out.
As far as no other club chasing him, well I think that’s true here in the NRL but I reckon he’d get a pretty good gig in the UK and that’s leverage for his Manager. I’m happy to drive him to the airport.

First half of the season was excellent.
Second half was terrible.
Finals campaign was good.
The season ended up being average.
Mary, Young and Hornby don’t deserve another crack.

A couple of points here:

1. Its the manager (and McGregor) seeking the extension not (at thia stage) the club offering.
2. McGregor realises the club may have options of a new coach and rushing to get it done whilst we are in transition period.
3. It is the Mole

Whether the club takes it seriously is another debate but this is the Dragons. However, is it being rushed by rhe manager to get it done before the new board on the 1st Oct? Surely no decision could be made until the new CEO starts on Nov 1st and by then pre-season is about to/has started.

1 thing that is for certain:

McGregor will be coach for 2019!
We had all better get used to that.

2018 was amazingly similar to 2011 in so many ways. We were leading the comp until Round 15 and then hit a massive speed bump and into free fall, with two credible albeit disappointing finals performances to end it all. Sounds familiar aye.

What can't be understated is that, save for a slight question mark over the ability of our 1-5 this year, both years we had the team to win the comp. In one case we had a master coach who, for mine, had his mind elsewhere for the back half of the year, and in the other, the amateur one who, despite his strengths, just didn't know how to manage players.

I'm convinced McGregor is here next year. Let's face it. He will retain his spot because 1. it's easier than sacking and paying him out 2. the Broncos game (which I am still on a high from) will save him. He is the cat with nine lives. If rumours that they are out to re-sign him are true then I will volunteer myself for the straight jacket. Send me straight to the asylum.

I have heard the same late this season when I was at the Captains Run.. and have also been told that the players themselves have a big wrap on him as well...
Oh well we may not get what we wish for..where there is smoke..lets hope its only coach manager wishful thinking pressure talk on the club, or slow news day or they are trying to rile the Dragons fans from their slumber prior to the grand final
Mcgregor is an expert in spin in end of season reviews it seems. He does it at press conferences..or tries to.
Just for the record...he does not fool me and I am onto every statement he makes. Even the throw away ones when he said prior to the semis..we have beaten every side in the Top 8...Wrong Mary..no you did not.

Crush he is not fishing , it is a fact . It worked out OK this year to a point because we had a big win over the Bronco's , but it could have easily been a disaster falling as we did , big loses at the wrong time . The only thing that saved Our season and Mary was the semi win .... Can't believe there is talk about extending his contract . At least wait till the end of next year....
