Oh I agree 100%, just putting it out there how our Club is immune from real scrutiny.

Very true, Trusaint. The only people who are showing any real scrutiny are the Dragons fans. The mainstream media couldn't care less how we are going - 'we have won our fair share of premierships, so what is the problem?' - they like McGregor, so why give him bad publicity? I guarantee that if we do lose the next few games it will still be just water under the bridge stuff from the media.

Besides the sack McGregor threads, which are basically in the majority only seen by ourselves on the forum, we need to get signs at the grounds showing sack the board or sack the CEO like we had with the "oust doust" banners. These can then be seen on TV when the games are shown - I don't know if there are any of these already being waved around at the grounds we play at? These may "create" more scrutiny, maybe not, but worth a try!!

He can't prepare a team. His plans don't work...they don't even look like possibly working. He can't attract talent, he can't improve talent, he can't coach talent. Refs don't fear him obviously.

Pack your bags Mary. You are not wanted here.
Your second post back in 2016 , nothing has changed ..... The board have seen something else , so they extend his contract , what a joke .... .

Our squad is made up of
- 4 current SOO players including 3 forwards from the dominant winning state in game 2.
- Internationals from other countries such as Graham, K Simms, Lafai and Widdop
- Players with the potential to play at the highest level - Lomax, Norman, McInnes
- Raw, unhoned yet undeniable up and coming talent in Lawrie, Leilua, Ravalawa, Dufty, Field, Saab and Sailor.

Yet we are bumping along the bottom of the ladder, playing inconsistent, dumb, unconvincing and outright poor football.

The juniors we let go at the end of last year are firing in first grade at their new clubs, having been recognised for their talent by their new coaches, but sadly deemed less attractive than players of the calibre of Maranta by our genius people..

Same coach for 5 years. Same approach to recruitment for bloody years.

you work it out Brian J. and get back to us (hint - check out the title and size of this thread).

It is a fair question you ask.
It's our (the long suffering fans) enigma to which there seems no logical answer.
I am of the opinion that in the end, poor results will catch up with McGregor.
The Board will ultimately cut the umbilical chord out of self interest and the media will soon start to scrutinize what is happening at the club.
Once Crawley and the Illawarra Merkinry start to look even more biased than they already are, the sink plug will create a whirlpool that will get rid of McGregor.
I am confident he hasn't got long to go but I am more worried about who they are lining up to replace him.
Barrett, Young, Hornby - any of that lot and we are doomed.
We need a coach from outside who will be given the latitude to build a dynasty.
St. George needs to be a top 4 club consistently. Every year not once every decade.
Many people agree that JD would be a gilt edged solution but if that was not possible, someone like Toovey would instill a philosophy of grit and passion that "buddy coach" McGregor just does not even understand.
I also think that the ex champion half back is a very intelligent coach with an incredible knowledge of the game.
He has runs on the board and you can bet his press conferences will not be lame.

Until we have ALL players in ONE LOCATION NOTHIG WILL WORK....
SACK THE COACH ,
but centralise everything and everyone. Lets say thank you to the SUPER LEAGUE.
JOB WELL DONE
IT WAS BETTER AS ST GEORGE

St. George (by itself) doesn’t have an adequate juniors base in order to be successful, let alone competitive.

Forget bespoke, rinky-dink banners at games. If change is to occur in the foreseeable future, it will only come about with 10 thousand pissed off fans marching in unison venting their frustrationoutside the doors of the Leagies’ Club.

Until then, the status quo will remain intact.

The Illawarra junior nursery is the biggest furfy that has been rammed down our throats since the merger.
It just isn't true.
Based on a few legendary players years ago, like Langlands, Fulton (who went to Manly anyway) etc. who came from the South Coast. Demographics in the South Coast have changed a lot since every kid wanted to play League. Now soccer has made hugh gains.

That is a generalization and just not true.
In any case what does the junior base have to do with being joined at the hip with Illawarra?
Where else would the Illawarra juniors go to?
It doesn't matter about juniors the current coaching lot don't use them anyway .... Its only by no other option or injuries that they get a go ......
