I see [insert expletive] 's mates in the media, Freddy, etc, are still bravely defending him, trotting out excuses such as the De Belin situation, Widdop's injury, etc. They gloss over the fact that other teams have survived with similar or worse situations. The Roosters side that carved us up on Saturday was missing Mitchell, co-captains Cordner and Jake Friend while Luke Keary has been out for a long stretch this year. Sharks have had Wade Graham out for a long period, etc, etc. The a* se didn't fall out of their game like our mob. The unspoken factor which our management will not admit is that the 'coach' has lost the dressing room. He is worse than the hapless Steve Price: Price didn't have the guile and cunning to develop the bulletproof status that [....] has developed over his years at the club and was an easy target to get sacked mid season.
Another two tears of this farce is unthinkable. I really hope that the rumors about Madge, etc have some truth in them.

Madge will not leave the Tigers..why would he ATM... but your other points are good.
I'll give some brief snipits or stats that these legends or mates in the media rough shot and gloss over without looking at the detail that the so called ungracious supporters do and follow it understandably with more scrutiny.

Widdop - we lost round 1 & 2 with him at f/back. Went down during the Brisbane game last year and Round 3 this year. We won both games and this year went on to win the next 3..as per below. Nearly and should of beaten Souths last finals game without him.
Graham or any other forward injured. We have plenty of cover...or is that the core of the issue there. Graham almost past it and KSims no big loss.
Norman was an extra loss with Widdop that did hurt us for about 4 rounds early to mid season..what about before and after
So Injuries not an excuse.

JDB..we won 4/6 to start the year...no problems then.... why now!

Origin - other teams with big representation going OK
2nd half season fade out - been happening since 2015...promises made to review and fix....nothing has changed.

Why does the board keep him and pay his salary as per contract but give him a job away from 1st grade coaching...being the ground sweeper or something. If he does not like whatever role out of coaching they give him...he resigns.. Whatever job they give him it saves paying someone else, so some money saved at least

I’m going to try and write this point from a completely neutral perspective, which is going to be difficult, because, at the core of things, I’m a frustrated Dragons fan.

But objectively, Paul McGregor must fall on his sword this week.

He should not still be at the helm of the club come 2020, and he shouldn’t be at the club on Monday morning following what was a trainwreck of a performance against the Roosters.

Down 28-0 at halftime, the Dragons players looked like they would prefer to be anywhere else. It’s the first time I can remember feeling happy about having other commitments which stopped me from watching the Red V, and I sure won’t be chasing up a replay like I do with just about every other game I miss live.

It was abysmal. To run out at Kogarah, the home, and beating heart of a proud club with so much history, wearing the once mighty Red V and put in a performance like that is just not on.

What makes it even more frustrating for Dragons fans is that the roster is not that bad. It’s littered with Origin players, representative players, and players who have just flat out underperformed all season.

Take nothing away from the Roosters, because they are building for a tilt at another premiership, and looking infinitely better than they did at the same point last year in doing so, but the Dragons are just not good enough.

They don’t want to play for their coach, and while there are more problems than McGregor at the club, there is a reason Wayne Bennett didn’t want the proud Illawarra man on his staff during his stint at the club.

As the same proud Illawarra man watching his club fall into the bottom four after wasted runs in the last two season, it’s time for him to disappear into the background once again, with the entire club needing a cleanout before 2020 becomes a waste of time as well.

Your players are fundamentally ok, they have just been coached downwards. They have all gone downhill individually.

We have a lot of locations as it is and are one of the nrls biggest clubs. They won’t mess with us.

You’re jv has been bad for the game. You should be seperate.

The teams in the 8, yes they are there, so they deserve to be, I agree, otherwise they wouldnt be there. Can’t argue with that.

There is a massive avoidance of the real issues at sgi. It’s a club in crisis and it’s set to get worse the longer they retain this imposter.

the art of journalism has long been lost, once it was be independent, to be curious, to be skeptical, to be unnoticed and not part of any story, just write it. Its not only sport, journalists rarely ask tough questions of anyone anymore, the only question I remember from the recent fed election from a journalist was that one to Bill Shorten about the cost of his policies. Bill couldn't answer, Bill went down with the ship. It was remarkable because it was a rarity. rant over.
