We need a complete overhaul.. Keep Lomax and offer something decent for Saab and ahh maybe Vaughn as well. Evry one else. Mary, flannigan, sims bros, hunt, norman, graham, and all the other duds, the bloody the lot off them.. Fill the team with local jrs and a signing or two to add experience.. Then offer nathan brown with a 2 year contract.. That will give us two years to find a good tactical coach to take us to the next level
Let's look at this weeks team:
1. Norman - let him go
2. Pereira - Canterbury Cup
3. Lomax - a keeper
4. Williame a keeper
5. Ravalawa - Canterbury Cup

6. Hunt - let him go
7. Clune - a keeper
8. Kerr - a keeper
9. McInnes - a keeper
10. Vaughan - a keeper

11. Frizell - is leaving
12. T Sims - a keeper
13. Graham - let him go

14. Merrin - let him go
15. Lawrie - Canterbury Cup
16. Luke - let him go
17. Aitken - let him go

18. Fuimaono - Canterbury Cup
19. Host - Canterbury Cup

20. Saab - a keeper
21. Ford - a keeper
22. Blacker - a keeper
23. Ramsey - a keeper
24. Brittain - Canterbury Cup
25. Matt Feagai - Canterbury Cup
26. Max Feagai - Canterbury Cup
27. Sauni-Esau - Canterbury Cup

28. Dufty - let him go

29. Lafai - let him go
30. K Sims - let him go
I estimate that this cleanout would give us about 5m to spend on new first grade players. With Shephard and Flanagan as our coaching-staff, we would need to recruit experienced first grade players to the following positions:

1 x prop to replace Graham - 700k
1 x lock to replace De Belin if he is gone - 550k
1 x backrow forward to replace Frizell - D Fifita 900k
1 x fullback 900k

1. New Fullback
2. Ramsey
3. Lomax
4. Williame
5. Saab
6. Sullivan
7. Clune
8. Vaughan
9. McInnes
10. New prop
11. T Sims
12. D Fifita
13. De Belin or new lok - 550K

14. Kerr
16.Lawrie / Blacker
17. Ford / Fuimaono
18. Brittain

The upside of WIN Corp buying out the Steelers was getting the Gordons with a personal fortune of some $700 million- the downside seems to be that the Gordons are media players and investors who made their money by being frugal and don't want to spend it- particularly on fixing a coaching mistake of their making. Dilemma!
I wonder when the penny will drop and WIN / Gordon's realise that they have wasted their money and are about to waste a lot more?

I like it.

If Hunt goes alright at 6 he can stay imo and Sullivan could make a great bench impact player for a season...

Not being rude Slip, but I cant agree with your first sentence.
Our back 5 are bog average. Maybe potentially, there may be something there, but as it stands we are nowhere near a great roster.

Agree TruSaint! Our backline is terrible plain and simple. Good forward pack, reserve grade backline

Mary... I'm not a quitter.
You're not a coach either.

Doesnt matter what he says now brother. Really doesnt matter. The damage is done, and he is gone. Its where to from here. I do not have faith in the direction of the Club at all. I want to see tangible change. Ten years in footy is a long time to be in limbo. Its the coach but its also much more than the coach.

Anyway, Im gutted.

Show me something Saints. I was cheering the Dogs last try today FFS.

How much are you personally prepared to kick in the tin.

A 2 year payout doesn’t come cheap.
The only one caring about the size of the payout is Mary. He should be sacked immediately and under no circumstances should Dean Young be made the intermim coach. Can someone on here define what area of coaching Dean Young is responsible for? Last year it was defence and forwards coach. This year it is? Another one of the old boys taking the bucks but accountable for nothing.
