He's won 7 comps at two different clubs. Gould also won 2 at 2 different clubs.

The idiots.
Many have their glory time and then fade. Take for instance

Glen Lazarus (courtesy Greg Hunt's advisory panel, Wiki)
Achieved a formidable reputation in prop forward position at club, state (NSW), and international levels. He was the first player in the history of the game to win premierships with three different clubs: Canberra Raiders, Brisbane Broncos and Melbourne Storm.

Lazarus was also named Players' Player for two consecutive Kangaroo Tours: 1990 and 1994. In addition, Lazarus scored the first ever rugby league try at the MCG during a State of Origin game.

Then again he did recently say "You can't polish a turd"

As much as I tink Trent Merrin is a great player he is extremely confident in his ability to command the almighty dollar. Trent seriously , you are not that much of a game breaker to assume any kind of demands in relation to earning over $600,000 that the dragons have offered . For gods sake Trent you haven't even played for Australia yet because there are many players in your position who are in front of you in regards to selection . Wake up to yourself if you really think u are worth that coin find somewhere else to call home . The Dragons have nurtured and developed u into the player u are now and this is how u repay them . As a diehard supporter I now can't wait for u to leave given your attitude to our brand. If u have a problem Trent with some home truths that Mary has passed on then maybe u are to precious for your own good . This is a man and ex player who has played at every level of the game and is experienced enough to pass on the knowledge and truth which could enhance your game even further. Be a man Trent and stop letting Wayne Beavis organise your affairs and go with your gut instinct , it will be better for you & your game if u do 🙏

I hear you RED73V,but lets sit back and have a look, if you were offered a lot more money in your employment you would be crazy not to take it...Same job a lot more money, loyalty in the game is gone.Trent and any other player need to set up their future,as they can only compete for a short time......Whether we like it or not money talks......:(

If Trent can get the big coin elsewhere then his manager has done a good job for him and a club would have paid overs. Trent always starts a season well and then fades pretty badly, maybe under a really good coach he might be more consistent. As a player he is way over rated, he showed son much promise early in his career but he is a little bit light for a prop and not skillful enough as say Corey Parker to be elite.

Well said Minh.....he needs to dominate games more often, for the money he is looking for,Trent is not a game breaker.I wish him all the best .....

This only makes sense to the fans, as soon as u add the player managers , "special" 3rd party arrangements , and corporate influence , it all unravel's to the circus we see now with Merrin ...

Correct...Just wish he would make an announcement...It's time to move on. Hopefully we can replace him with someone of quality.

In fairness to Merrin he is 25, Parker didn't hit his straps until later in his career (he's almost 33),so plenty of time for Merrin even though he has already played 10 origins.

Too many on here downplaying the loss of this bloke.

Stepford fans regurgitating the party line. Fact is we're losing an incumbent origin player, one of our best players, a local junior. and they're telling us this is a good thing

Dylan Nappa is set to re-sign with the roosters as is JWH. And apparently Roosters also interested in James Tamou.

As I said before, we are not going to be signing ant high profile forwards. Our best bet would have been to try to attract some lower tier players like FPN, or Mose, or someone cheap like Costigan or Nigel Plum. At the moment we haven't proved anything on the field. Until we start improving on the field and Mary shows that he can coach, we are wasting our time trying to lure these other players away fom their clubs.

Btw, what's happening with Packer? Goodness the wheels turn painfully slow at the dragons!!

Softy softly
NRL need to register his contract
I'd imagine that this weeks goings on will slow things down a little for the obvious political reasons

Actually, our best bet is keeping the high profile forwards that we already had. Who'da thunk it
