The Chooks are hardly off the hook. All that has happened is that another mob is showing the same selfish, arrogant attitude.
Bwah hahahahahahahahahahahaha
How rich coming from you Himbo. Sharks the first one's to join SL?
Shark's can't jump on board, can they?
They have to save their cash to stave off Ope's law suit.
If they had the money for a higher cap, they would have been there with the Roosters straight away. After all, you have no integrity to lose.

You may have a point, but coming from a die hard Scum supporter like you, it's too much. Sharks are a bunch of whores who sold their name and local pride to join another comp.
Go on boy, mention the merger, it's all you've got.

Look someone else defending their club....oops thats right we cant do that

Look before you leap you f**king Australopithecus.
I had previously said I was unhappy with Doust's statement. I was Attacking the sharks and Jimbo.
Jimbo understands, it's an old Saints v Shire rivalry. You know like the Roosters would have if anyone respected them enough. Even Souths couldn't give a ratsy's.

I am surprised you are so stupid and you are a South Coast boy. You were defending someone having a go at your team. There is nothing wrong with it mate

The merger is all I've got? Phhh.

Your mob has been a laughing stock for its entire five year existence. You couldn't win in '99 with $8m worth of players, so why do you still think spending more is the answer?

You're mob couldn't win in what...37 years, before a salary cap was introduced, during the money soaked super league days.

And 'Phin, what were you trying to say.
Or were you agreeing with me?

Actually I'm not a south coast boy. I'm a Maroubra Boy. I just couldn't afford to live there anymore.
I took you out of context, and thought you were accusing me of blind loyalty.
I will always love the Dragons, and always have. I just don't much like business men, especially if they want to bring shame on our great club.

It's good considering that people I work with come down for holidays.

I think defending your club is an honourable thing to do 'Phin, but not at the cost of the truth.
I support the Dragons, always have, always will, but not necessarily business desicions made by executives. I support the name, the badge and the blokes who play the game I love. The club makes that happen, but I don't have to agree with everything they say.

If the monies generated from Broadcast rights were distrubuted a Club like Newcastle [who despite winning two Grand Finals in 7 years are still piisspoor] would be able to continue. It seems to me that that the Salary Cap issue has highlighted other issues that urgently need to be addressed.

Would $2.5 million a year be a good amount?

Grant, I'm unsure, as I'm not privvy to the full extent of the Roosters proposal, and I admit that I am shocked at the amount of Clubs that are reportedly going broke, despite the Salary Cap and despite the fact that we have seen great football in the last few years.

The most reasonable scenario is that all Clubs get together and nut this out with the NRL.

     You poor and sorry sad soul. You should think of a better come back considering your mob has been the laughing stock for nearly 40 years you imbecile!!! Go and get a life, and just between me and you...the whole merger thing you always come up with means jack shit to us Saints supporters. But on the other hand untill sharks win something the quote "38 years and they have won f**k all" will always be in the back of your mind, and it has a great tune to it, so keep extpecting the chant!

I feel sorry for you Scum supporters, not only do some of you actually think you will get in the top 8, I read today by a disgruntled fan "We will become Minor Premiers in 2004" Pfffft keep dreaming.

Sorry Penolope - I'm being a bit mean. Last I heard the current NRL grant to all NRL Clubs is $2.5 Million per year. It's just that i am starting to see more and more arguments/posts saying that the NRL isn't sharing it's income (Sponsorships/Media Rights) with the Clubs and your's was the post I came in on it

As to whether the $2.5 Million per Club is a fair amount would depend on just how much of those deals is in Cash and how much is in Kind (advertising/broadcasting etc)

At least our coaches never bitch slap our players or cry like babies after losing a game. :p

No your coach just sues the club. In some ways, the Sharks have quite a bit in common with the Roosters.
