Another one that wants to claim players that Easts signed in their mid to late teens as Juniors. Sheesh.
I'll go first.. The Paea brothers are not Easts Juniors. They are from Campbelltown.
what about all the Redcliffe players this year who have been put on contract...but this junior thing is out of control - I want one team to name a full team of juniors that are playing with them next year...haven't we all got 3.25m to spend on players???
But Ea you are really short sighted - when do you call a player developed?? Most of the players mentioned above were not first grade players nor did some of them look like it!!
I really don't care what path you take from Juniors etc - but the fact is that all clubs cannot keep those juniors - some of them wouldn't make first grade..could you imagine if penrith kept all their juniors and parramatta kept all their juniors where would that leave teams like Souths, etc...The players would have a good case of restriction of trade...I appreciate your arguement but what you are basically saying is that all clubs keep their juniors - and pay them a pittance and no one else can have them??
its call a free market - you can offer players money...if they accept they accept if not you make other arrangements..
But to see some people in here saying we bought an Australian side is just so stupid. Sure they are playing for Australia but where did they play their first grade game - now names were mentioned mitchellino -did he play first grade or premiership grade with anyone else??
