I think we could end up with 28 points but its is hard to totally confident about with a jekyll and hyde Dragons side.

I think it will be wins rounds 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 which will leave us on 34 points (including the bye next week)

Bye next week so it's only 7 more wins to hit 30 points. I was sceptical at first, but looking at the run home, it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

I would be delighted with 30pts tbh cos after the first month I was thinking to myself we would be lucky to make the 8, time to blood some youngsters, we might have just turned the corner.

As it sits we are two wins out of first at the half way point & we have a reasonable run over the next month & I believe we can take advantage of that given that we seem to be playing with purpose, control & a bit of belief without being streaky. The most promising sign for me is that we are not over playing the game as we have in the past, we are just going about our business. Our defence is very good (and in turn our for & against is excellent), which is the cornerstone for any contender & we are really just playing a good brand of football.

There is something different in this group this year. Very tight knit & relaxed, even when we were playing ordinary, the effort was still there.

As unlikely as it may have seemed, I believe that we have the talent and enthusiasm to make a run at it tis year. Granted the Origin period has been very kind, but I don't belive that the team fears anyone anymore. They are just going out there & playing each game on its merits & playing the full 80. That in itself was all I was asking for this year (and every year since 1999).

As a few of you have said. Anything can happen rom there.

I got a feeling & its a good one. I really thnk the players believe it too.

Very proud of the way they have stuck together & appeared to have turned the corner.

Well I hate to chuck a wet blanket on this spark of joy, but I personally never considered making the top eight to be a successful season.

I remember at the Footy Club AGM Warren Lockwood told us all how we only finished two wins out of the eight, forgetting to mention we were one win above the spoon.
He thinks making the eight is a successful season.

From where we were 4 weeks ago plus the expected change in coach, I think top 8 for this year is a reasonable finish its hell of a lot better than I thought.

Agreed it's a reasonable finish, but a SUCCESSFUL season is when you do the lap of honour, nothing less.
It can be good, fair, or reasonable depending how far down the ladder, but unless it's a premiership, it's not a success. ;-)

True true, us long suffering Dragons fans deserve one too ;-). They gotta give ppl like me who was born in the 80's something to cheer about... so sad with all those GF losses...

Yeah, but look at it this way, you'll be around for a f**ken lot longer than this old drunk, so you'll get to see all the ones after I go to the big public bar in the sky. :alcho:
