I don't know why Sharp is even speaking. If anything there should be clear delineation between the CEO and Chairman's role and who should speak to the media. How many times have you heard Politis from the Roosters or Dib from the Dogs speak? Who is the Chairman of the Storm? How about the Broncos? It seems that only at dysfunctional clubs you get the situation where there is too many chiefs and not enough Indians.

Besides his cheesy emails to members Sharp should never speak publicly. He presents terribly and quite frankly I don't see that as his role. Boulous needs to step up here.

There seems to be a designated go-to man when it comes to the media. Sharp is ours for the time being, Maybe the new CEO will take on that role ? I don't see the issue. Better that one merkin makes comments than in the past we've had every Tom Dick n Harry speak to the media.

A review of the current PLC Constitution with a view to making changes has been something that was initiated more then 12 months ago by the club and is ongoing.

The NRL demanded PWC review if anything, delayed this process. Subsequent recommendations by PWC such as changes to the electoral format and cycle need ratificstion by PLC members and need to meet the requirements of the registered clubs act.

Suggesting that we just change the Constitution of the PNRL Pty Ltd is very niaive given the current Board of the PNRL Pty Ltd is not independently elected and therefore this recommendation would require introduction of ADDITIONAL elections.

What's ridiculous is the inference by the Telecrap that we must effect constitutional change within the next 6 weeks to avoid starting the comp at -4.

It may well be the right thing to do from a management analyst's POV, but it shows a lack of understanding of our club's recent history.

Elections once a year will make things worse, not better for our club.

If the NRL really want to control how things roll with our club, then they'll need to control who nominates for elections. Perhaps they could consult with China as they have done this with Hong Kong elections.

Making sharp our designated media go to man is like designating Morgs our first hit up taker.

Well the football club was disbanded without consultation of the members so why not not just agree to triennial elections with the NRL overseeing the process?

As Bart said, we had to put up with 1 election per year anyway so you might as well grin and bare it.. After all we brought this all on ourselves

What are the 9 things they don't want to implement (out of 119)?

Would be good to know what the list is before going off half-cocked....
Sometimes these things get into splitting hairs territory

Yep, it's relatively normal to not adopt all recommendations of an external consultants. Sharpy is right on this, yearly elections = more instability at the club.

Well with the revolving CEO door of late who would you have preferred ? A rookie coach ? DA ? Sharp had no choice but to show leadership. That's what is expected of him anyway, right ?

If anyone has appointed Sharp the media spokesman, I reckon it's the media. They would love getting quotes from him.

Like they have done previously with blokes like Brett kenny and Ray price.

Whenever they wanted a good quote from a curmudgeon on cricket it was always Neil Harvey.

He didn't like anything that happened after 1948.

Forgetting the practicalities (like changing the constitution etc), would an annual election for a third of the board seats be a terrible thing? Yep, obviously there are more elections. But the potential for massive power swings at any given election is lower, and this might (I say 'might') reduce the degree of self-interested f**kwitism that tends to plague the 'all-in' elections. Have to think about it a bit more. The natural controls that exist when this model is applied to listed companies (i.e. votes are typically proportional to the financial interest in the firm) aren't there with a footy club. Anyway, I don't think it's as obviously a ridiculous idea as some seem to assume. And yeh, Sharpie would do well to STFU on this one, at least at this point.
