Id like to know how the NRL think having annual elections for 1/3 board is going to address admin issues related to the salary cap

Will having a revolving door of merkins make things more stable with the employees who are meant to be over the cap issues? ... it might??? But there is no guarantee

If the NRL want to improve the election process so that we have stability, then they should give Fitzy & Spags one way tickets to Burkina Faso. Until then, the merkins will continue to mind f**k the club.

That wont change anything ... those guys will still have their puppets going for the board pushing their cases as happens now

Only thing that will ever save us is all the merkjns involved burying the hatchet ... but im not holding my breath for that to happen

If Hayne gets $50k for being a brand ambassador, it would not be part of the cap. So what's the problem ?

Hiney, the Broncs are a private company who seem to divulge little of their real operations

Grant is a complete muppet, where are the sanctions on Broncs who had multiple issues with TPAs , but conveniently their football manager resigned ( who can say if he was not paid out) , then refused to attend any meetings, So they decide no case , FMD , how obvious is that in the context of what they are contemplating for us. Most of the issues are from Spags and co. Some 2 years or more ago, and have little relevance to this year

The Watmough TPA was cleared etc by the NRL!, clubs are not to be involved in TPAs, Schubert on combing through everything felt that the should be a mention of a tenuous connection to a supplier, this allows Prozenko et al go to town

If these sort of discovery missions were conducted at a number of clubs who have unbelievable salary cap rosters, we could rest easy, such as Rusty and his apartment and transfer fee paying, etc etc

At least the board recognise they won't be pushed around by an incompetent bunch of tossers who favour certain clubs, that's my say on the matter , probably not the compliant response they want , but this is not equitable treatment by the dopes who bow down to Uncle Nick and others . Enough said

The Broncs are publicly listed so if Andrew gees departure included a payout it should be in the fin report if anyone is bothered to look, the concern though is that his counterpart at the Broncos leagues club that authorised the alleged payment also re-signed prior to the investigation, and I don't think their leagues club will report his payments

I must have missed it, but where has it been reported we are paying Hayne $50k for 2016? I thought the issue was we paid him for 2015 (reportedly).

When I heard that Sharp said we were ready for a fight, I groaned that why are we fighting the NRL over what the independent auditor has told us to do, why not listen to the paid professional?

But after thinking about the 1/3 election every year, the biggest problem we've had is the board not knowing governance from their assholes. And that 's clearly going from beyond Sharp and obviously isn't confined to the chairmen. Replacing a third of the numpties with bigger numpties each year isn't going to make the situation better

I support some most of recommendations that i have seen but the NRL needs to understand that the board is bound to the NSW clubs act, they can't just say we are changing the terms of board members and how many and how often they come up for election. That would have to be done at a AGM or a EGM can't be done by the board.
I'm hearing this is the main sticking point.
The board would have the call a EGM and give 14days notice in writing to members and then the motion would have to succeed, so the board can't make that decision to change it on it's own.

So the EGM movement would be voted on by the larger voting bloc? Some of whom may have been reading the papers over how certain it is we will be docked points unless we kow tow to NRL?

The NRL have done such a top job at Wests Tigers, no doubt they can advise everyone what to do :):)

You're right MJC, it hasn't been reported Hayne is receiving another $52K for 2016.

Given we didn't get much mileage out of last year's $52K, I'd say his endorsement today (this year) is probably only fulfilling the terms of last year's payment ;-).

What the NRL wants doesn't need an AGM/EGM or any other GM.

I'm not up with the parra leagues constitution about all this (The NRL wanting a change to yearly elections with 1/3 of the board) and you seem to know what's up. Could you please explain it? And why are so many people saying we would require a vote to change the election process?

If a general meeting isn't required is it as simple as the board just agreeing to what the NRL wants and holding these elections?

The second paragraph below would be one way.

I would suggest that the NRL are well aware of the fact that changes to the Constitution require a vote of members and therefore would not be implemented until a future AGM. If we were to show them a 'plan' to implement the changes then I am confident they would be happy.

Conversely, without a PLC AGM and member vote, the Board could simply choose to change the Constitution of the PNRL P/L and make the changes the NRL want at that level.
