Fact is there would be nothing to leak if Sharp and his board didn't keep gift wrapping shit like this for their detractors. We are an absolute laughing stock ATM. And it's all our own making.

There is a specific reason why every article has said that and that is the wildcard Jarryd Hayne.

If Hayne makes a real fist of it this year in the NFL the media will NEED him to talk to them, so because he is implicated in this they have to make sure he knows they don't think he did anything wrong.

We need an independent board now. Parra people whom are professional and who have no alignment with any factions. It's the only way forward.

I agree with MITS. I would love Sterlo be chairman. He was not aligned to any faction he just loves the club. He's someone everyone respects. I don't believe he would be so media hungry like sharp making comments in every paper. He'd let the CEO do his job. Just an Idea. As for the others it would have to be parra people with business acumen. Industry leaders etc. maybe the NRL need to get involved in this process.

All I know is we can't afford to have another rabble of a board like the current one. It would be the end of us.

It does not say that The board are absolved of any wrong doing just the players and the companies who provided the TPA. Again another deflection comment written by a plumber apologist! The articles are all about the board and their alleged inaction and cover up.

I don't even like Sharp. He sounds like he has had a bunch of (free?) schooners right before any interview.

Having said that, there is nothing in this article that warrants your reaction (or the inferred suggestion being made by the author). They present nothing, and absolve anyone of wrongdoing. If players and TPA providers are free from blame, then how can it affect our salary cap?
As I said (I thought fairly clearly), this newspaper article is 100% about elections. If Fitzy or Spags are anywhere near power, we are screwed. Yes, I would much prefer to see someone in charge who can string 3 words together in a row, but it is not the 2 mentioned.

That's because the plumber tried to cut corners and miraculously get him on the board. The members revolted against the plumber.

I can't work out how someone who claims to love the club can continually destabilise it like they have the last 7 or so years. I mean can't they see they are seriously hurting the club and eroding the fanbase??? They love the club but not as much as they love running it and having their snouts in the trough. To be honest I'm not sure but that's the end result that we need. Maybe the NRL screens applicants for the board making sure that they are parra people, credentials and check history that they haven't been involved in any factions.

I would love to have Sterlo as chairman he has the respect of most people. He's a leader I could get behind.

Obviously there are several issues that all members and fans should be concerned about.

One is the politics at play here. I think everyone bar the main players is jack of it

Two is how our TPAs are set up, negotiated, and paid. We all saw how we got saddled with Foran's TPAs now being included in our cap because of comments made by club officials. Hopefully with Schubert involved we are now better at it, but it doesn't excuse the disgraceful way they have been handled.

The next AGM should be a cracker.
