In any other sport in the world if you did that deliberately you would be sitting out the rest of the year. He definitely knew someone was there as it was after the play and he wanted to rid himself of Parker. Whether his intent was to smash up his face or aim for another body part is irrelevant. If you throw someone off a skyscraper but hope the result is only minimal it is inconsequential that you were lacking some logical foresight in the heat of the moment. The end result doesn't matter and your action is still the same. In this case it is stomping a face with a boot.

I've seen lesser things than that in the NRL a red card or what Kasiano will probably get. The judiciary needs to wake up to itself and sentences need to be contrasted. Groping a ref is not the same as trying to crush someones skull.

Red card?

We're not in England mate.

Also, how is throwing someone off a skyscraper even the remotest analogy for this situation? :joy::joy::joy::joy:

He dropped a nice elbow on Teddys face in origin as well. f**k him, if that's how you play the game that's what you get, give Kasiano a pat on the back as far as im concerned.

I'm guessing you won't have an issue when someone pops a couple of sucker punches on Merrin's face while he's not looking then.

Logic fail.

Merrin isn't a grub you clown, understanding fail.

If he was going around dropping knees and elbows into players heads regularly I would say what goes around comes around but he plays the game straight from what ive seen this year. He certainly isn't in the Gallen or Parker class of big sooky grubs.

Can the admins please ban Timmah from incessantly using smilies in every post? The self-congratulations are nauseating.

Or maybe he has amazing recuperative powers, I dunno.

EDIT - okay I just saw the replay. I thought he was down for a lot longer watching it last night - ie for a minute or two. My apologies to the merkin.

The funny thing about this thread is the raiders supporters calling for Kasianos head and yet think Hodgson had no case to answer with his tackle on last week.

Both Kasiano and Hodgson should be rubbed out for the rest of the year.

Right its really quite crazy that I need to explain how the judiciary works but here we go

You see every offense has a base charge based on the severity of it. Dangerous contact to the head is considered by the judiciary less bad than a host of offenses. So when they charge a player they take into account any loading that player has and the base charge. They dont ring up Sharks fans and say on a scale of 1-10 how butthurt are you about Josh Hodgsons performance against you guys and then apply the average as a multiplier.

For the record I think it might have been verging on a grade 2 dangerous contact but even then it would have still just been a week off with a guilty plea.

I would charge Kasiano with a grade 2 kicking. I am not sure if he has any carry over points but that would see him out for 2 weeks plus some change in carry over points.

I would actually not be surprised if he is charged with the exact same offense as Hodgson though (ie grade 1 dangerous contact to the head)

EDIT

Just as I post his charge comes out. what does a player need to do to get charged for kicking lol.

Understood. Merrin DIDN'T drop a couple of sucker punches on someone's face when they weren't looking.

Thanks for clearing that up mate. The comparison of Gallen to Parker is spot on too. Really good assessment that Parker is regularly dropping knees and elbows onto players heads too.

Bulldogs forward Sam Kasiano is facing a three week suspension after he was cited by the NRL match review committee on Friday morning.

Kasiano was slapped with a grade two dangerous contact head/neck for an incident involving Broncos captain Corey Parker in the 76th minute of the Bulldogs 20-10 loss at Suncorp Stadium.

The base charge of the offence carries 250 points, meaning Kasiano would miss two matches with an early guilty plea and be available for the first week of the finals. He would then have to walk a tightrope in the finals with 81 carry-over points.

If Kasiano fights the charge at the NRL judiciary, he would risk a three game ban if found guilty.

NRL.com haven't bothered to report correctly the base charge for Sam is actually 375 points due to loading.

50% for a similar charge on Issac Luke, Good Friday v Souths last year. He sat out two weeks for that as well.

Oh yes Merrin threw some punches in an origin game years ago I forgot, fair enough if someone had of kicked him in the head that year I would not of cared. And Parker and Gallen is a very good comparison imo, Gals a bit grubbier and Parker is a bit sookier but they are both grubs and sooks, and Parker is doing it regularly you are just a biased two header if you don't think so, that being said neither are quite on JTs level though.

Very lucky IMO. He could of at least lined up to take the first hit up after the incident the big pussy instead of leaving it for Rona (I think).
