Sandow: Blinder or bomb?

What kind of question was that. Why would he be responsible for bad seasons he didn't play in?

Look, we made the finals in 2007, it looked like we were finally heading north, then we went backwards and were stalled for 4 years. Then he's gone, replaced by a rookie coming off an ACL interrupted 12 months and the kid is more consistent than Sandow ever was.

There's a ceiling to how many games you can win in a season when you're being steered around by someone who is inconsistent in attack and a contender for the worst defender in the comp in defense.

You were 1-11 or something similar in 2008 before Sandow debuted against us and inspired a win out of absolutely nothing. Souths won five in a row, and went on to beat the eventual premiers. Thus avoiding the spoon you were destined to win. All WITH him in the side.

I'm trying to work out if Sandow has actually gotten slower since last year or if Reynolds is really quick.

Here's 2011 Sandow:

And here's 2012 Sandow:

It seems to me that he ran 10m more in that 2011 clip but he was a second slower than last night.

So be honest, has Sandow lost pace or is Reynolds really quick?

Reynolds looks to be pretty quick. He gave Sandow about 20 meters and reeled him in. Inglis caught up from 15 meters straight behind with no angle to work.

Difference between Sandow from the first clip and the second clip is about 10 kilos. That'll slow anyone down.

He might be slower, but it is only just.

Based on the clock in the game, the first 95m was done in over 12 seconds, and the 2012 was about 13 seconds. Nothing dramatic.

Sandow said in the post-match interview on the Sunday Footy Show that he thought he was a bit slower.

Souths got lucky in one sense. It seemed they were pretty keen to keep Sandow. But with Sandow gone, Reynolds has come in and done a great job. He seems an excellent organiser, so it seems to me they're finally starting to get the best consistent usage out of the likes of Taylor etc off the back of good direction. Sandow is an instinctive player, plays off the cuff. Outstanding talent but I'm not sure of his ability to lead a team around the park.

Reynolds and Shaun Johnson are going to have very fine careers IMO as far as young halfbacks go.

Dont forget with Sandow at the helm over the next 3 years Souths never made the finals.

Adam Reynolds is good at goal kicking and that's it,the little genius does absolutely nothing else good, doesn't even run the ball,he literally just walks a few steps and passes the ball off to another genius,Greg Inglis is making him and some of the other genius Souffs players look good

Adam Reynolds would be running around in maidens at Esk if Greg Inglis wasn't his jockey

Just wondering if you have ever tried watching a game without taking any magic mushy's

I don't blame him watching Souths play whilst on some sort of mind altering substance...

Pretty sure their fans do as well...

Sandow is quite possibly the worst halfback signing since Paul Green went to the Cowboys in 1999.

lol... as opposed to your lot, whose only significant "achievement" since Captain Cook's landing has been hosting a riot.

Paul Green to Parramatta.
Andrew MacFadden to Parramatta.
Chris Thorman to Parramatta.

But the best halfback signing fail was Matt Orford to Canberra last year.
