Burns is not the only one to be fair, Smith's yesterday were also as bad as you'll see, and Marsh apparently can't catch...

But the new guy in close is a bit lame, really - does he field there for Qld? The likes of Boon and Logie made fielding in there an art, surely someone regular should specialise and get good at it?

Oh lord. Why is this rookie qlderp fielding there?? Can't catch a cold ffs
Poor from burns no doubt.

Although short leg/bat pad must be the least professional position in the team. Its almost always just the most recent addition to the team, whilst in the rest of the field they put the most suitable person. Its poor in modern day cricket, given the lengths theyve gone to to professionalise the game.
Hazlewood bowling better today.

Unbelievable really, tradition needs to go out the window here because it is a speciallised position. It's just hurting Burns' confidence having him there and we're missing regulation chances at a time we need to roll these last few quickly and set up a game for us.

Is Bob Simpson still around, bring him back!

I remember when he made a bat pad fielder our of Boonie

Simmo did everything himself, not like these million hangers on that we have now days

Simmo used to have some one throw throw downs at Boonie and he would belt the f**k out of them till Boonie leaned to catch the ball or get damaged but in the end it worked

Why Blewitt is a fielding coach is beyond me, its a case of jobs for the boys and its showing, this fielding is f**king amateurish

bring back the yank, thats the best we have ever fielded

This fielding is what happens when you give a job to your butt buddy that you played with at South Australia for a million years.

Baseballers make sense, they take fielding seriously - I don't recall Blewett as anything other than a decent fielder, so not sure why he's there... in his defence though, there's no Ponting, Symonds, Clarke, Martyn, Hayden etc there... pretty minimal talent to work with

Simpson was brilliant though...

Liz Hurley's autobiography will have a chapter in it called "Slumming It", it will be about her brief romance with the one and only Warney.

Is it a pre-requisite for coaches to be experts as players though?

That aside, clearly something is amiss with Australia's fielding in this series.

India going through the motions now, sucking all the competitiveness from this Test match.

Starc getting stuck in. It's so hard to take aggressive Starc seriously, but he seems to get under people's skin enough

No, but give he's a recent former player, I was wondering. Recent former players seems to be the go with you guys at the moment (Lehmann, Langer, Blewett), which is a bit strange...

Many of these are schoolboy mistakes though, which is pretty bad

Maybe he can head up to the commentary box in a break and have a chat with the plastic gimp
