I'd never heard of them before I got married and moved into my now-wife's house at the end of Perth airport's runway. I don't know if they're any good or not, but those yellow aeroplanes are very noticeable from my place!

I've presumed that they're the equivalent of a JetStar / Virgin Blue ... except for much longer journeys. I don't reckon they'd be very comfortable after the first couple of hours.

It's the tier down from Jetstar.

It's "very" budget.

I'm sure there are horror stories which dont reflect the average experience because they'll be staffed at the bare minimum so if anything goes wrong expect delays and limited attention.

Athens from Aus might be a very tough journey on this type of flight though.

I’ve flown Spirit (ultra budget US airline) and while they’re cheap I’d never use them for anything long-haul. The seats are non adjustable moulded plastic things that’d be absolute hell on a long flight. And you pay extra for ALL your bags, even cabin baggage.

Ajet were about $50 from Istanbul to London. They had a bad rep because they asked for extra money for baggage. Then I looked at their 'premium class' which allowed extra baggage, seat selection up front and a free light meal. It cost about $80 all up, no brainer.

But here's the tip: don't eat the free meal.

And make sure you use the toliet before boarding. For some reason, Ajet barricaded the toilet with their food cart about mid flight. It almost caused a riot.

And the crew were grumpy at best.

But apart from that, I can recommend AJet.

WTF - do you work for Jetstar? Scoot are way better than Jetstar. In fact, all the Asian budgets are way better than the the crap shoot that is Jetstar.

@Generalzod I've flown them a bunch of times and never ever had any issues. As a budget you have to pay for your bags and meals (like Jetstar) but the food is pretty decent.

Never flown Scooter but I rate Air Asia, used to have the best value flights to NZ. The $8 in flight meals were awesome too.
Yeah Air Asia are great, I'm pissed off with all the dickhead Kiwis who didn't fly Air Asia but flew the other airlines who lowered their prices due to Air Asia, and then Air Asia had to pull out due to lack of business.

I've flown their business class (which is really just the laydown seat and all the meals included) to Malaysia for cheaper than economy seats on other airlines. Being able to lay flat makes a huge difference.

Their Nasi Lemak is top tier, not just for planes but for restaurants too.
