Thoroughly enjoyed that. Scotland won me over with their spirit and commitment. I must say Wales looked disinterested at times and I thought they were disappointing. Good luck to Scotland.

Stop your whinging! The game's International dimension is developing gradually, which realistically is the only way it can spread.
It's going to be very f**king gradual at this rate. 8 years ago we had a farcial World Cup thanks largely to the inclusion of teams like Ireland and Scotland and we haven't learnt anything.

Who the f**k are you anyway 5 posts?

The general opinion over here was that the problem was the inclusion of teams like Lebanon (2000 style - rather than now) and the Maoris ECT - and as usual the opinion over here was right!

Scotland deserved that on the second half performance - but once again a side is left failing to qualify who had it in their grasp! If one of those numerous Welsh chances had stuck then it could all have been so different...

It's just that we can see the WC qualifiers on Bigpond if you don't have Sky. But as you Lancastrians are wedged up and can afford rich man's telly due to your constant minesweeping then it won't bother you. ;-)

Well the Newcastle Knights have three guys to boost the Scotland backline - Mad Dog, Mad pup and Jimmy McManus - so i'm pleased to see Scotland through.
Now we just need Samoa to use Carmont and Vuna, Fiji to use Naiguma, the Clarke brothers and Aku Uate and we will be well represented despite battling to get a guy in the Aus team.

Very disappointed with the result again, but at least this WC it looks like there will be some quality football.

Lets hope the Scottish side isn't taken over with second rate NRL players with Scottish grandparents.

Wishful thinking, I know.

Why would they? If they find better eligible players who are in better form then they will make the Scottish side. If not, they wont. I think that the three players roopy mentioned would add something to the Scottish side. Although the Sottish born McManus is probably more of a long term investment, he would benefit from the experience and may even snare a birth if he improves this year. The McDougalls would need to show good form, but they do have the ability and if they are in form at WC time they would definitely add another dimension. Adam in particular would look good in a scottish jumper but he may be a little too old by next year and that is likely to cost him a spot at this stage.
