Alright so we'll keep things in context like you say.
Firstly, Finch is a rep player in the same way Mark Hughes was a rep player - via many many injuries.
He never has and never will be first, second or hell even third pick.
The Finch has won more games than Newcastle this year is a joke of an argument. It's round 3. In round 26 if its the same story sure, but if we're doing this, Matt Orford must be useless as it's round 3 and he still has zero wins.
Also if you watched the Parramatta vs Canberra game you would have noticed the Eels won in spite of Finch who was a perpetual f**k up again. And for close to the first time in history, the Raiders fans are justified in saying the ref cost them a game, it was ridiculously poor.
And you give Scott Dureau the likes of the Roosters team from 02-04, or Jarryd Hayne, Krisnan Inu, Ben Smith, Nathan Cayless, Nathan Hindmarsh, Feleti Mateo and he makes the semi finals regularly.
If given full time status over a couple years I don't think there's going to be much difference, if any, between the two players.
And while context is so important, this would be Dureau's 20th game? That's purely a guess but it wouldn't be too far from the mark. Around the same time Finch was leading Canberra to failure after failure.
BUT you're as stubborn and determined to find the negative as I am to give Scott a chance so we're never going to agree.
