Yes Doyle is total professional an upgrade for sure compared to Wayne.

I feel very happy at this moment. Upwards we go :)

Warriors to become a powerhouse now and hopefully not as many jerseys each year (sorry Mt Wellington)

Was Wayne pushed or told to jump?

Did someone rub a genie's lamp? Those are two of the three wishes I'd be choosing.

Not only Scurrah replaced, but with a man of Doyle's standing. Wonderful.

Very interesting.

Had the Warriors not gained Doyle, Scurrah would have potentially been a massive loss to the club.

No other Ceo in NZ sport stands out in the Way Schurrah has. That guy is a money making machine for the Warriors.

Fortunately for us Doyle's business acumen is such that it shouldn't be too much of a risk to let Schurrah go.

As with the Elliot situation , in an ideal World Wayne Schurrah stays on as head of Marketing and managing the Warriors Business unit.

Schurrah with his background in apparel and brand marketing really has no peer in NZ sport.

Waynes intellectual property ended up being worth twenty five Million dollars in profit last year.
Where are you going to find someone in sport capable of pulling those figures to a business that loses money through it's gate sales revenue.

It's a very brave decision by the Warriors. Letting go of the Golden Goose , Wayne put them in a position where they didn't have to think about where the money is coming from to out compete the other wealthy NRL clubs with third party inflated offers.

Wayne used to say that we make all those Jerseys so that the Business would be in a strong position to build the best possible team on the park...he's absolutely bang on there.

I wonder how much the Warriors are paying to pinch Doyle from the NRL. Jims not short of Money so it would be 'payment' of a different kind , Jim must have wanted to continue the philanthropic type work he started when he repaired the NZRL mess.

Clearly the problem with Schurrah and Elliot is they were both men in the wrong roles at the Warriors.

Doyle is a Rugby league Ceo.

I'm happy for the Warriors to build their brand and drop the multiple Jerseys...provided they have someone who understands the merchandising monster of the NRL that Wayne built....otherwise.....Owen better had be planning on sticking around and preparing to fork out more money if we aren't going top four the next four years.

Wayne should never have been making Footballing manager decisions , he is not the guy to run the negotiations when you are looking at chasing a Craig Bellamy. He also shouldn't have used by the Warriors as a spin Dr when talking nuts and Bolts rugby league.

Poor moves by our owners in that regard, whereas Jim Doyle is exactly the man you put in front of the camera when you're engaging the fan base.

The biggest advantage of getting Doyle back is that he is a powerful figure in the NRL , he understands the inner workings of HQ and he has personal working relationships with people Like Dave Smith.

I'm liking what Doyle adds to the Warriros:

Getting favorable scheduling
having sensitive issue dealt with
ensuring the Warriors voice is heard at the table
providing the NRL with Third party agreement offers that are going to be accepted

A footballing Ceo that will understand the overview of development football in NZ rugby league...the politics...and the weakness's.
