Are you sure he won't get worn out like Paulo and RCG?

An extra 20 minutes of footy once a week won't make anybody fit. If they haven't built their fitness base by the end of pre-season they need to do extra conditioning through the week.

Agreed, but big sluggish merkins like Greig are far more likely to struggle making repeat efforts without the ball.
Every post you make betrays your ignorance of the sport - you clearly never played, coached or administered the sport.

lol you’ve administered rugby league haven’t you? I f**king knew it.
played, coached and administered.

Still do the latter two. But of course you would ridicule anyone with any actual involvement or experience - to you it's all about the stats on the page.

Who needs coaches or players when you can have statisticians.

I have played (including as an adult) and coached (but only under 7s).

Are you sure I wouldn’t blindly trust any authority figure due to my military background?

Stats are a great source of objective truth, whereas our observations and memory are clouded by cognitive bias.

so a win against the Cowboys then the bye will put them around 9th with a match against the Bulldogs to go to a 7-7 win-loss record

Also currently 5th based on for and against

all "winnable" games till round 22 v Melbourne
Might be all winnable but we will slip up somewhere wouldn't surprise me up at the sunny coast against the Fins. This group just hasn't proven they can go on a decent run without a slip up.

Best streak we have had under BA is 6 wins.

Only on 6 occasions have we had a minimum 4 game winning Streaks under BA in 10 years - 2 of those streaks were separated by long breaks in between matchew

4 wins - Round 25, 2016 to Round 2, 2017 - Two different seasons
6 wins - Round 15, 2017 to Round 22, 2017
4 wins - Round 19, 2022 to Round 22, 2019
5 wins - Round 1, 2020 to Round 5, 2020 - Covid affected round 1 & 2 before 2 month lockdown.
4 wins - Round 1, 2021 to Round 4, 2021
5 wins - Round 6, 2021 to Round 10, 2021

Proof that chasing the collisions means it hard to stay up week to week. Or that the coach isn’t able to get the players up for more than 2 or 3 weeks at a time. Makes it hard to win a comp that’s for sure.

getting 6/8 winnable games is acceptable to me
just saying that the team is a finals contender - though have to put the wins on the paddock

If you're only going to win 68% of your games (our best win rate, which we achieved in 2020), is there any good reason you should win more than two or three in a row? If you win more than that in a row there's a significant element of random chance, and it means you will probably also have longer than usual losing streaks:

YearLongest win streakLongest loss streak
201764
201943
202052
202154
202231

You'll find the longest losing streaks will generally be from teams that were good enough to win significantly more than two thirds of their games. For example if you have a team that won 85% of their games one year it is mathematically impossible for them to not have at least one six game winning streak, and in fact if that was their longest streak they would necessarily have at least three of them.
