Season 2023

My guess is Bateman will start the year off on the bench. Blore by all reports killing it. Pole will be on the bench who can fill in there if Blore can’t go 80.
I really hope Blorey gets the rub of the green this year.

I’m not an injury expert but it stands to reason that he’s best off being eased back into Hell’s Kitchen.

So start Pole who can handle and benefit from the first half blitzkrieg and only bring Blorey on when things settle down.

But if Pole is playing well, that’s a conundrum, a “nice problem to have” (which is a Tim expression).

Doogie needs a good year to fetch that $900k he wants. The ranks of quality halves are pretty slim, salary cap is up and a new club is raising the stakes.

Hes going to come close.

They look pretty good (in the training pictures) particularly the Penrith guys...while I know it's just a few milliseconds of shutter speed the shot with Benji front and centre pointing instructions made me go "thunk".....and it's not Benji

I can’t see Brooks hanging around next year.. Whatever sheens said to give the impression he will stay for less, Sheens is a proven bullshit artist…That’s not a criticism of sheens. It’s a clever comment.

Klemmer was voted Newcastle’s Players’ Player for 2022 after averaging a team-high of 146 running metres and 28 tackles per game.

But he realised pretty quickly that even that wasn’t enough to earn an extension.

Shit, we would have given him the COE with those efforts😂
I loved reading that he is hitting it up really hard at practice. Maybe part of our downfall last year was that it came as a real shock when it came to defense just how hard the opposition ran at us having not experienced that at training.

Klemmer is one of my favorite players already.

No grog, depending on his previous intake, his body is adjusting to something approaching its natural optimum.

That becomes his new baseline, you’d expect changes.

Should help a bit with recovery, rehydration etc.

Also, the benefits to his mental state and maybe well being, better times with family.

It always surprises me when players hit the turps to excess, hit the gear etc. it’s their livelihood they are f**king with.

Lifestyle choice, it’s a bit passé for NRL I think.

I think they are young, with shit loads of cash, think they are bullet proof and don't get told "NO" too often?

Why it'll work

Bateman is a winner and he’s prepared to do whatever it takes to get his team across the line.

In fellow recruit David Klemmer he finds a kindred spirit and the pair will work in concert with Api Koroisau and Isaiah Papalii to help the Tigers regain respect.

With Bateman and Papalii on the edge and Klemmer powering up the middle, the Tigers pack takes on a whole new look.

Bring it on.

It’s all of that.

Like the toilets being cleared at the Penrith Nightclubs when chin and mates want some privacy.

A number of accounts of boy blunder being given the special treatment by grovelling westy shops.

I live in the Panther player catchment and ffs I’m not braking for Nate or low gutted dog Salmon.

I’m braking for Yeo, Edwards and Brian

And Blorey who still lives down the road.

Yeah there’s a bit of doubt about Bateman, but I’m more optimistic.

The esl is hardly going to make the flaccid fully erect if you are used to the grind of Thermonuclear NRL.

Once he’s back in a world of kill or be killed, hopefully he’ll spring back to the righteous bastard he was.

By that time, the cool group and leaders in the squad will already have been worked out.

So he shouldn’t be too vocal.

If you’re one of his competitors in the squad, the best way to rid of him is to leak…!

He’s a tad sensitive for all of his macho, but he’s family now and I want him to fire and enjoy his time with us.
