The season is not far off.

Who is the starting 17 for R1 ATM.

For me:
1-Bula
2-Tito
3-Olam
4-Douiehi - GK
5-Naden
6-Galvin
7-Luai - C
8-May
9-TDS - Api suspended
10-Klemmer
11-Sa Fainu
12-Seyfarth
13-Bird
14-L Fainu
15-Hunt
16-Pole
17-Si Fainu

I went Naden after Richo's comments that he has been training the house down.

I think that will be fairly close

my only changes would be Skelton for Naden and Twal will be there with either Klemmer or Si Fainu dropping out

I hadn’t thought about Doeuihi as the goal kicker however that’s a good point, even if Api is the main one he won’t play 80 mins so would be better having the one guy kicking

My r1 side

1. Tito
2. Bula
3. Skelton
4. Olam
5. Toa

6. Galvin
7. Romey

8. Royce
9. TDS would consider Birdy if he trains well
10. Seyfarth

11. May
12. Pole

13. Kit

14-17 tba

I hope the panel likes my “second row of death”. Mobile, powerful and willing units.

I might swap the halves during the game to add some spice and trouble.

Most of the fg side will be held back from the trials because they are too valuable.

Opposed training for games lasting for 2 hours at a minimum. Players doing extras will be rewarded with services such as free house cleaning, car washing, garden care etc by club volunteers.

I think you might be right but geez I've never seen someone get so so many chances not based on performances on the field.
I’d like Turuva to trial in the centres as I can’t stand AD.He has become a pathetic whinger. If Turuva could handle centre then I want LL given a shot on the wing with Skelton.Otherwise Turuva & Skelton on the wings while the precocious LL serves a short apprenticeship in state cup & Toa in centres instead of the useless AD.

I doubt they’d play AD to just kick goals. Not now.. and for Naden, training hard doesnt cure mental deficiencies in the heat of the moment. Benji will play Naden when he’s short and in his own good time, if at all
Spot on....it has never been about effort or physical ability with Naden. It has always been about his nerve and thought process with his split second decision making.

Yeah, he’s a confidence player.

He did go Mia and had some personal issues last years.

But when your club is trying to shop you around and get caught out in the press, that’s understandable.

He’s authentic card carrying ex-smug so JLs arrival will be a big help him. a calming influence, a tacit understanding, smug is back and it lives at Concord.

JL is our rising tide who will lift all boats, the bringer of sunlight into the club.

Nado hasn’t made my side, because Im afraid I have no choice but to be brutal.

We’ve all been very caring and understanding -when Tim bought his circus rompsters and league jugglers into town, but now that we are looking competitive, all bets are off.

If we have to kill our first born players to win, so be it.

Rant over, I’m sure if keeps his head down, he will make the fg side. For all of his game anxiety and panic as you say, he is a bit X factory.

Maypole, the second row of death, do it Benji.

I’ve got Richo on the ropes finally, can’t answer me.

Now something for @Vic Mackey, young ex footy mate at work recalls tackling Royce back in the day and received a concussion for his trouble.

He said he managed to get up and play the rest of the game.

Being on the shorter side for a player, he said a lot of his junior career was spent with bigger players trying to run over him.

Now he reports that Royce is naturally a very funny guy with a quick wit and he loved playing against him and of course Lucy.

His report on the roosters this year is that it’s an official building year and the word is not to expect any kind of excellence.

He’s a kind of insider having gone on their cruise last year. One of the things the roosters do really well is their broader alumni. They spend the time and resources keeping people close.

Even their ex juniors who never made it.

Our ugly lot won’t even speak to their current paid up members!

Everything club produced is sparkling, but we’ve got a lot to learn from the glamorous clubs.

I thought I'd give out some dates and time frames because it's the pre-season and we are going to win the comp this year.

The pre-season comp starts today.
Our first trial is next week on Sunday - 16th Feb. 9 days to go.
Our second trial is Friday 21st Feb. 14 days to go.
Our first game is 7th March. 28 days to go.

It's good to have a life and to look forward to something.

I've been thinking about our team line up and rotations.
My thoughts are.....
Start with our biggest pack until Hunt needs a spell, probably 20min mark.
When Hunt goes off, Bird comes on to exploit the edges and Pole moves from lock to more of a middle role.
The reason for this is Bird, whilst fearless, can't be expected to do too much physical stuff at his age and body type.
The inclusion of DaSilva on the bench to give Api a spell and work more with Galvin. He also kicks if AD isn't playing.
More on AD. Most of you know that I predicted him to play this year a long time ago as we are limited in the centres. I stand by this. He has an unfavourable name tag which is understandable.
AD is a competitor though. In the past he was part of a poor team and he often overplayed his hand. His tackling is also shoddy at times. If he can sort that out he will be an asset, like him or not.
If he does play then DaSiva may miss the gig and they settle for another edge fwd like Matamua.
I'd like to get people's opinion of the possibility of Latu Fainu playing a dummy half role since our depth in the halves is solid.
In the world cup, he played in this role and has better service left and right than Api does. He also have an astute grubber kick to in-goal. I think he offers a more complete and versatile repertoire than most. A good benchy and backup to Api, maybe?
I've been watching replays and highlights of Luai and my take on him is his energy, especially in resetting the line. If one raid fails the the next quickly follows. This is what Penrith do so well and is the main reason they have those rings.
The faster you raid and reset the more likely players like Taruva will score in the corners.
Our team must learn to keep up especially our decoy runners. Passing the ball left then right won't work if we don't tie up the edges.
Finally, what's was the main reason we have got all those spoons. TERRIBLE DEFENSE!!!
I can't believe we have opted to keep Johnny Morris on who is our D coach. Something isn't working and something had to be done in the off season to address our defensive blunders. Or are we going to get 50+ put on us again? Maybe they have addressed it but I haven't heard how they are going to fix this.
They bought in Brett Hodgo but his coaching resume is very poor.
Anyway, just a few thoughts.
