TALLYN DA SILVA

He might only have 21 NRL games to his name, but make no mistake Tallyn Da Silva is a player in demand.

The rising hooker was given permission by the Wests Tigers to talk to rival clubs about an immediate move and has no shortage of interest.

Da Silva is reportedly set to meet with the Cowboys, Eels, Sea Eagles and Knights this week ahead of the June 30 deadline.

The 20-year-old attended renowned rugby league nursery Westfield Sports High alongside his best mate and former Tigers teammate Lachlan Galvin. The pair also won the Harold Matthews premiership in 2022 with the Western Suburbs Magpies.

Da Silva made his NRL debut at just 18-years old and is considered a future star of the game, but is stuck behind one of the best No.9s in the competition in Api Koroisau.

The Cowboys are on the lookout for a hooker given Reece Robson is leaving for the Roosters next season, while the Knights could also do with some depth after Jayden Brailey departs.

Manly, however, are fairly well-stocked at hooker with Lachlan Croker and Jake Simpkin signed until the end of next season (Gordon Chan Kum Tong does not have a deal beyond this year).

It’s a similar situation at the Eels too with Brendan Hands and Ryley Smith both locked in until the end of next season. The latter has become the club’s first-choice hooker and is still only 22-years old, but coach Jason Ryles’ mind is clearly still open when it comes to his long-term No.9 if he wants to meet Da Silva.

Reed Mahoney (dogs) might be looking as well.
