The Blake one was round 17, close to 3 months ago. Not hard to see why it wasn't charged, and no-one said a word until this Slater tackle came up. There really is a need to clarify the shoulder charge over the off-season. Neither tackle was deserving of even a penalty. Blake appears to have made contact near the hip.

Whether injury is inflicted or not manes no difference. The potential for injury is there every single time.

For the people saying ''oh well the player wasn't injured so he shouldn't be penalised'', you're basically saying you can shoot a gun at somebody but if you miss thats ok, he wasn't injured.''

The best was in 2016 when Mick Ennis shoulder-charged a player without charge and then a few days later Jack Wighton pulls of the exact same shoulder charge, but about ten times more brutal, and gets charged. Then in an attempt to clarify, that numpty Garlick comes out and describes the Ennis tackle and why he wasn’t charged. The problem there was that description exactly matched Wighton’s tackle so then Wighton gets off. Both were clear shoulder charges. I think this event caused the NRL to re-define what a shoulder-charge is and now they’ve gone and made a mockery of it again lol.

To be honest the JWH tackle that broke RCG's jaw looked more like a shoulder charge than either of these, but it wasn't charged either.

Whacking someone with the shoulder and causing injury is fine and dandy as long as the arm is loose.
