Hopefully not ulterior motives from Flanno.....isn't his young bloke next in line behind the Braileys'. My fear is someone like the Storm might offer Brailey a tuition behind an aging Cam Smith.

Whats the Brailey Craze? Wayyyy over rated from what I have seen.
The Storm wont be getting Brailey because they already signed the next Smith, who is also a Smith, & is a gun.
The next best was Jacob Liddle. Prob better than Smith actually. Then there is an awful lot of daylight.
None of them would get a run in the NRL before Seggs in the next 5-7 years.

just thinking that if Seg gets a 2-3 year contract, this Brailey kid will probably only play 10 games over that period. Probably better off going elsewhere if Seg signs.

At this rate Brailey is more overrated than Lichaa and we have seen how that turned out.
I dont think Brailey will be any good for at least 3-4 seasons in, better off with Seggy and sign another in-form/prime hooker when the time comes.

I am all for Brailey playing backup but how long do you think he will be interested in that? Younger players these days think they are a Thurston or Johns.

At this moment, Seggy first (if he signs), Nu Brown, Brailey, Mortimer.

I wouldn't be afraid of losing Brailey, even if he was the next big thing, we lost Lichaa, Frizell, Peachey, etc which all stung at the time, and then we won a f**ken premiership. Flanno has always been good at building the best squad for today, sometimes at the sacrifice of youth, but I think he has the right approach. West's kept their big name youngsters for how many years now and done what? It's gotta pay off for them eventually, but they sacrificed a good few years to get there

This is situation with hookers contracts at moment

Brailey - 2017
Cherrington - 2017
Brown Nu - 2017, also is utility
Mortimer - 2017 also signed as backup half

So with Seggy i can see 2 year deal no more then that, gives us time this year to see how rest of the guys travelling.

Remember Flanno has eye for picking up player other clubs dont want.

Basically our spine was made up of players former clubs decided they wanted to move on from

Barba - Broncs
Maloney - Roosters
Townsend - wanted to come home
Ennis - Bulldogs

These guys were deemed surplus by former clubs, but Flanno has eye for what will work at Sharks
