CRONULLA has signed hooker James Segeyaro but the NRL is refusing to register the contract because of his dispute with UK Super League club Leeds.

Hopefully common sense prevails and the cultfigure known as “Chicko” is welcomed back into the NRL sooner rather than later.

Difference is they aren't in the same sport. You can do whatever the f**k you want in that case.

When I was playing, I had to get a release to leave one junior club to move to another. Wasn't even being paid. The club is in the same sport in the same league.

If I was moving from Gymea or Como to play for Guildford or Thirroul it's the same scenario.
A release is required no matter what level.

Being granted a release and not turning up to pre season training while under contract and trying to sign with another club are two very different things.
