Was told Rein knocked back the Dragons offer and is after a lot more coin . If that is the case not sure why we just payed 400k a season for another Cutters quality forward in Sims when we so badly need to find a 7 and a 9 for next season . I would have thought that might be a priority .

Sims is twice the player of the many in our squad and every single cutters player. Remember creagh will retire...

How stupid, offer rein a contract only to be knocked back. Well if we are only offering $1 then that's ok. Go away rein.

Sims is a dud signing.

There is no justification in any recent statistics to say Sims is going better than any of our 1st grade squad and TBH Wakeman runs harder than Sims.

He will be just like the rest of the wooden headed forwards we have already got.

Blank faces and no footy smarts.

I agree that Sims pre his first broken leg was better than some of our current forwards but Sims 2016 is a shadow of what he was and we have a much better back rowers at the minute . I would prefer to give two young Cutters forwards like Host and Sele a go next year . I know Creagh will most likely retire but he is a middle forward and to me would have made more sense to go after Ashton Sims who is a big aggressive middle forward . With Tariq I can't remember the last time I seen him have any impact on a game besides his cheap shots that gets him time on the sidelines .

Looking at player statistic averages at various NRL sites Rein rates reasonably well compared to other hookers. His huge defensive work rate is quite impressive which takes some pressure off the rest of the forwards.

I've mentioned this previously.

In the right team, Rein can be a great asset. A team that has functioning halves, maybe a ball player at FB, where the hooker doesn't have to do much but run and tackle. McCullough at the Broncos has a very similar game to Rein.

Alas, we are not currently a team where Rein can excel.

Rein is a competent FG hooker yes but a marquee player he is not. If figures of 600k a season for him are correct I seriously hope the club looks elsewhere for more value and spread the money to other areas. 600k or more for a player like Granville, absolutely.....

.

similar attributes/strengths maybe, but McCullough's ability to execute is 100 times better.

Far better at choosing when to run or pass, slightly better kicking game IMO. Doesnt throw forward passes every match. Crisper delivery to his first receiver...

Nah, he's right. Sims is used goods. Hasn't been an attacking weapon on the edge at all for years. At best he'll be a plodding middle player for us, off the bench. Meh

McCullough can pass and can play the game unlike rein. Rein is lost has no idea if he should go left, right pass the ball or get tackled. Dumb player.

Let Rein go, promote Havili and start grooming one of the young ones coming through.
Instant improvement and less $.

Reece Robson but he hasn't even turned 18 yet but a player of the future.

Coster from the Cutters has a good skill set but he is only a part timer.

I agree let Rein go and develop Havili into a hooker who can play more minutes . Give young Coster a contract next year ....And make sure young Robson is locked up ..He really looks like a good footballer at this stage .

Havili is certainly not the answer to dummy half and imo that isn't his best position anyway.

Coster again probably won't be offered a job hell they have over looked most Cutters players the last couple of years to sign outside plodders.

Robson will play another year of under 20's but is coming along nicely.
