Lawrie is way too small for a prop at 103kg he will end up being a hard running 2nd rower w Simms going to Prop next year .. Lawrie is a clone of Josh Jackson - hard working, hard running
Simms is already playing in the front row. And Jackson sucks.

And Lawrie wont be a 2nd rower. Maybe a lock, but more likely a prop. Second row is a very specialist position, players need to be able to read attacking plays and make decisions in defense, and in attack they need to choose the right lines to run, be perfectly timed and have the ability to watch the ball they are about to catch while still keeping an eye on the hole they are about to run into. It's what makes guys like Cordner, Gillett, Graham so damn good, and Thommo and Friz have both shown this skill. It's also the reason that Host is first in when Friz/Thommo go down.

I think when we signed him, we were crying out for some variation in the forwards to help us score some points.

Come 2017, we're all about the power game and we're leading the league in points scored.

Hence perhaps, the need for a finesse forward is not so attractive any more.
Leilua will be fine. He needs a few years worth of development, fitness, etc, but given the right time and coaching he will make a very good impact forward and provide a great point of difference to the team.
