Regardless of what any merkin thinks radradra will be a massive loss to rugby league.
Just like Rogers, sailor, tiquiri, hunt, folau and so on.
What people have to realise is that rival codes are happy to pay league players large sums of money to not play rugby league.
Hunt and folau are the best examples of this with the AFL paying them huge dollars to play a sport they never played before.

The biggest shame is these guys could have been kept in the game by making them NRL amabassadors for Fiji and helping the profile of the game over there. Not much point developing these overseas player pathways to see them off to Union when a few extra $'s gets thrown at them.

If he was such a loss to RL, you could've at least spelt the blokes name right...

LOL this is not the games problem.

If people have the moral culpability of agreeing to a deal and then going to a different jurisdiction where there word and there deal can no longer be enforced then there is nothing the NRL can do to stop it.

The last thing the NRL should do is starting dropping random cash on players with low moral culpability because they think there profile might be high enough to get them a big contract in france and they might walk out on their word.

That many could be far better spent elsewhere, like juniors in perth for example.

Of course it's the games problem. Radradra SHOULD be the face of rugby league in Fiji. He should be paid for an ambassador role which sees him stick with Fiji Bati and help promote rugby league in Fiji and the pacific. Australian players are given over $100 k extra in match payments by the NRL with origin and tests, by paying 3-4 players such as radradra, korobete etc. we might actually continue to grow our sport in other countries which benefits the NRL.

Thise countries have bigger issues to solve. In many cases so do the players. Don't begrudge them earning whatever they can. This applies for all players of course.

This is almost at farce levels now.

The Daily Telegraph are reporting that Semi's sister has denied that he is leaving the Eels to go to French Rugby.

The Sydney Morning Herald though are reporting his sister has confirmed he is leaving the Eels to go to French Rugby.

Hard to understand how two media organisations can have such diamaterically opposed views attributed to the same person.

(p.s. No, I did not read the stories - can't from here at work today).

Probably Telegraph has paid his sister to say that so they can get one up on SMH.. which wouldn't suprise me

If he doesn't turn up for Parra's next game it would have to be a breach of his contract with some consequences.

The following statement was posted on the Parramatta Eels website -

Eels statement regarding Semi Radradra

Tue 21st June, 02:20PM

The Parramatta Eels and Semi Radradra’s management can confirm that Semi will be returning as expected to prepare for the club’s next NRL game against Cronulla.

Semi has also assured the club today that he will remain with the Eels as per his contract until at least the end of the 2017 season.

"Like other Eels players during the bye round, Semi was granted leave by the club to return home and visit family. This has led to some unnecessary speculation regarding his future," said Semi Radradra’s manager, George Christodoulou from Next Generation Sports.

"I have spoken to Semi directly and he would like to assure Eels fans and the wider rugby league community that he will be returning as scheduled in time to prepare for Eels’ next NRL game against Cronulla."

"He remains fully committed to his teammates and will be remaining with the Eels until at least the end of the 2017 season, as per his current contract."

The club will be making no further comment regarding this matter.
