... should acknowledge the history of the " Jets" name by doing a BNE Lions - when in Sydney play in the old Newtown strip. Home in SEQ wear the Green / yellow / white.

Just saying

No. Any new team should focus on their own brand and identity and not a club it has no connection with and never has.

A new club based in QLD wanting to join & you think they should hijack a foundation clubs history by "working together" aka using the jets name so the dunghole town of Ipswich gets to use the jets moniker if they are accepted into the NRL.

FMD :crazy::crazy::crazy:

No, No, No, No, No

You merkins have no sense of History.

Ready made audience in Sydney. Embrace history of game. Attract new audiences in SEQ. Brand recognised instantly by generations. Chicka Ferguson gets rolled out as Mascot.

It works in the AFL because they are teams in minority sports and need to grab allegiance from Vics living interstate.

Won't work in QLD since it's already mad RL country.

Wait to see what happens with expansion and yes wouldn't make too much sense, QLD teams need their own identity (particularly "regional"). Besides, Central Queensland has more financial backing, plans, grassroots programs,and support/community engagement. With a few more big developments to come

I must have missed the part where CQ was mentioned in this thread. Must be hot in CQ if you seriously think you have more plans program's community engagement than the Jets and South Logan Magpies. What do you actually do besides take the funding that should go to Capras and local footy?

I was referring to bid's alone, which CQ is a clear leader (not inlcuding Cutters/Capras vs Magpies/Jets). There is a big difference between "paper" and actually implemented already (even the NRL has backed the grassroots/junior program in a sense).
CQ Bid isn't taking any funding from the Capras, nor doesn't affect local footy as the big companies want national exposure and a national sporting club. In fact my local (senior) club went up about 60% in sponsorship from last year to this year. Most mines tend to sponsor alot of community events and local clubs anyway.

Settle down Cutters are a Cowboy club and nothing to do with you but I suppose as you claim Scott Prince is a CQ player anything goes. Capras have nothing to do with yr bid and you knocked them back when they needed help. How do you not count what Jets and Magpies do when they are the WC bid?
People shouldn't be confused CQ bid is a privately owned for profit bid just like the Bombers that is trying to convince people it is a community bid only difference is Brisbane folk haven't been convinced to fund the project for the owner like CQ has done!!

Newtown jets, the oldest rugby league club in Australia, are already working with a fellow foundation club, the only team to have played in every season if the NSWRFL/NSWRL/ARL/NRL
