In a recent nswrl media release they mentioned that in 2008 the winners of the matthews cup and sg ball comps would play against their qld counterparts for a national winner. Does anyone know what their proposal of qld counterparts is.. will the broncos, titans and cowboys field an u16 and u18 side or would it be a rep side from the current brisbane metropolitan clubs such as norths, easts etc.

After leading 8-0 early and it was 8 all at half time it ended up being 14 all at full time and into golden point where the bulldogs beat the panthers with a try and full time being 18-14.

unlucky boys bad luck in getting so far but yet so near :(

Well just going by this thread, and depending on the finals format, it is possible for them to drop one and still win the GF.

I heard that the players of the tournaments went to Lachlan Coote (Penrith) in SG Ball and Matthew Wright (Penrith) in Harold Matthews.

Yep they were the players of the tournament.

A special congratulations to Lachlan Coote who is only under 17's and to win the best player award in a under 18 competition is a excellent achievement, well done Lachlan!
