Is it me or the sun shining just a little brighter today????

Has some checked on our mate Ricky Wazn??? he would be shattered.

Devastated. I don't get to laugh and mock your childlike IQ anymore. No doubt there will be other chances on other subjects though. I'll try and stay positive.

As per my last post, was always in trouble when Faulkner came back. Not in the best 11 at the moment. I'm good with it.

He still made 52 at a run a ball and I think they will try and see that as a positive becuase thats seems to be how they think. MMarsh could get a double ton the was he is going.

I know who'd I'd rather have.

Boof said its a showdown in the bowling stakes, if Watto doesn't deliver with the ball v Essex, Marsh could be in.

I'd take Marsh over Sunshine as a bowler, his is much quicker atm, Sunshine seems to just be a place holder while the bowlers take a break

I dunno about the value of the runs in this match cause Ryder was opening the bowling. Watson must be very very close to getting the chop now though.

Essex used 8 blokes to bowl, and that's not including Bopara who didn't roll the arm over.

Marsh's batting might get him a spot, his bowling has looked completely unthreatening at international level. He's only young, but it's been poor.

gee its sad that we have to pick one of these two.

I'd take Marsh though. He's less likely to waste a referral, unlikely to demand to be in the top despite knowing he's nothing more than a glorified number 6 or 7 batsmen.

Timing really is everything and appears to be on the side of Mitch Marsh, who has scored back to back hundreds as the first Test approaches.

He seems like an irresistible pick as Australia’s number one all-rounder but you know my position on Shane Watson. I thought it was imperative he played in the World Cup and I think he proved to people that he wasn’t done and dusted in that tournament.

But is Mitch Marsh doing more — and does he want it more? That’s the dilemma facing the selectors. Do you take a punt on someone young or do you go in the Watto direction like you did in the World Cup?

I’d be leaning towards Watto. I think it’s that kind of series. You get opened up in England and you need to have a bit of experience to be able to deal with everything that goes on there.

Yeah Haydos, pick him because he got 0, 23, 67, 24, 64*, 28, 2* in the World Cup.

Factor in his horrendous strike rate when a game actually means something, poking and prodding outside off stump for no reason, planting a tree trunk in front of the stumps and the fact that he would refer clean bowled if it were allowed.

Watsons numbers in England are much better than his career stats apparently.

I think his experience gets him in for at least the first test. Still not sold on Marsh as a test bowler, and the quality of the attacks offered by Kent and Essex mean his hundreds have to be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm quite worried about the batting actually. The entire top seven should have plundered both of those attacks.

Clarke channelling the idea both MMarsh and Watson to be in the 1st test

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-07-04/ashes-20153a-michael-clarke-suggests-australia-may-play-both-s/6594802

Watson averages 38.00 in England from 19 innings and 1 ton

That sole ton (176) was the last test of the ashes in 2013 at the Oval when we were down 0-3 already in a dead rubber test.

Take that 176 out , and his average plummetts to 30.33 from 18 innings, probably a truer in indication of his ability in England
