CRONULLA chairman Damian Irvine is expected to step down later this morning as former Brisbane Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen arrives at the Sharks to begin his inspection of the club.
Irvine has been under enormous pressure to resign his position at the Sydney NRL club ever since he said on Sunday that players had been injected with horse drugs during a period in 2011 when controversial sports scientist Stephen Dank was at Cronulla.
The comments left players fuming and have already drawn legal action from two officials who were amongst those sacked for failing to inform the board about alleged doping practices at the club during this period.
The Sharks have called a press conference for 10am this morning.

If this is true I will just thank Damian for all his work .
The bloke put his life on hold to do this job for nothing.

I first met him as Beeker on the CSSC bus to Penrith .
It was the first year The CSSC started.
The trip out there was one of the most ridiculously unorganised things I have ever been involved in.
The bus driver got lost trying to get out of the shire FFS.

The trip was hilarious and DI was the life of the party.

Then when we finally got there we were seated in the non drinking section!!

I have no doubts DI meant only the best for the Sharks.

If we can get through this I will not forget he was the one who put his hand up to have a crack.

But he has to go, he was not around when needed, and the interview he did, will always go down as possibly the worst in sharks history

I understand your point , however...

Lets not forget he doesn't actuially earn a cent working for The Sharks and has his own day job to do to feed his family.

His timing at being overseas was shit as was the comment from him.

He also did a lot of very good things.

Resigned just now. Bloody shame one set of stupid statements have destroyed a man who did a lot of good for our club.
Now down the drain to the extent of several million dollars, and our future in a very precarious position. :(
`Whatever it takes'.

It's all been a set up as part of a reality TV show and everybody has a laugh and it all goes back to normall.
