Simmons is doing fine and he needs the experience for next year. get bailey out off the centres in attack and give vangana 90% of the ball that he gets every week. maybe use him as a switcher so we are not as predictable. Covell to the jets for merrit and mellars to centre. If our halve are injured bring in aitkin for dykes as kimmorly has the what if factor. In defense i can't understand how the other 11 player allow dykes and kimmorly to defend next to each other this is a very basic skill you delelop when you are 7 protect the weak defenders. Hilders role when fit should to be protect a play maker on the left ala stagg.

What are the chances of Hilder playing against the knights?

What is the extent of Noddy's injury? How long off would he need to get right?

Hilder is a great defender around the ruck area. We've suffered here a great deal while he's been out injured. IMO He's an unsung hero.

Hilder is only about 80% right as of last Wednesday. If he can get to 90% he might play.

The "official" word on Noddy's injury is that he cramps up when he kicks or steps and there is no apparent cause. Cramping is not usually a symptom of an injury but a protective mechanism when injury is present.

I suspect a cruciate injury, possibly PCL. He clearly needs an arthroscope done to find out for sure.

That would be great wouldnt it- we make the semis and noddy does his cruciate ligament and we are farked- possible hey

Why didnt he get an arthroscope after the Rorters game?

I hope Hilly gets back, if Stevo is gone stick R Williams in the front row and make Hilly play 80 mins in the back row defending on the left.

Aitken has done nothing special Carina.
But, he has ability & huge potential.
his career has been farged up by raper playing him in struggling moments in a struggling team. this year he was picked on the bench & played 9 minutes I think.
its take col Murphy all year to rebuild his self confidence.
His first PL game I saw he was awful. Simply Awful. next 3 times isaw him he had improved 100% each time.
I reckon he could play 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 9.

Now, wh ythe f*ck cant a first grade coach on 300k per year see that?

Rest our captain two months out from the semis? Yeah that's absolute genius. Do you really want the Sharks to miss the semis?

Sheros, he is a passenger anyway. Even I would find it hard to see us missing the semis from here on in and I'd rather he had time off to get his leg right now and be fitter in the semis than keep on damaging the leg leading up to them, possibly missing them as a result.

If the Sharks get some better field position by reducing silly penalties, and dropped ball, I believe Noddy can still play a role with his passing and short kicking game.

The next is month is now looming as crucial just to get into the semis. If we win a few of those matches then maybe rest Noddy, but not now, in the middle of a horrendous slump.

I can't see where the next win is coming from.

I can only see Aitken v Johns having an unhappy ending for us.

Granted but I can't see Noddy v Johns being much better as it stands. Noddy was only kicking yesterday because a) Hilder was out and b) Dykes was spotted. He's in a bad way.

I don't really think who wears the 7 will matter with Johns. He's goona have a field day anyway if the ruck isn't fixed in the next week. Little Thaiday will tear us up off Joey down the guts if the A defenders and plug don't aim up.

what is it with Aitkin. He is the one in limited apperances who has impressed me the most of our juniors, it is something different each time (i did not see the manly game this year) he has shown all the abilities of o good centre
can pass
has in and away to put outside players away
can put a ball infront of players running onto it
can go himself close to the line
has exceptional ability to read what is happening and be there in support
he defense is a weakness out wide put 2 games and he will be right have seen him bring down warriors forwards one on one.
in general he is a class above what we are offering at the moment

Well nobody saw him in the manly game sparkles.
he had like 7 minutes game time or something ridiculous like that.
Most will agree with everything you have said but I will add, he has played awful in every first grade game he has played. But, he never plays like he does in the lowers. then when he goes back to lowers from firsts, continuess to play awful.
Confidence player definitely.
Skillfull, ability, good brain Double definitely.

But he never got a chance to play outside of a recognised half really. I was always hoping to see him get to play outside Noddy - would have done him the world of good

yes i never said he did all those things in one game if he did we wouldn't be talking about him now he would be at the roosters. they are just things i have seen him do in the limited time he has been out there. The best game was against canberra last year until half time. Fox cut to the sheds you see him talking with a few players about what he wants to do (pleading with one senior player that is not at the club anymore). come out second half sully does the i am the king of the world routine and we get beat and aitkin gets no ball kent to 1/2 for rest of season

That would be a terrific idea sparkles. I doubt Dykes has 4 or 5 years left though. Regardless in another 2 or so years he could be top grade 5/8 material

McGoldrick is a dead set TURNSTILE.

He was stepped numerous times in RESERVE GRADE on Saturday. We CERTAINLY don't need him anywhere near the centres or wing.
I am forced to agree with dropping Covell. Bring Merritt in, put Mellars in place of Mellor, and for ****'s sake, back up Hutch when he is running through the line.
With a little more backing him up, we could have got 2 more tries....
