No
Losing money
Running at a loss
No profit
Means screwed as far as I’m concerned.
That is basically failing at the main point of being in business.

Running at a loss in your football operation isnt such a problem if your other operations can carry the loss. For the sharks the development income may be enough to carry their future losses, though Id doubt it will cover $3mill a year if that is in fact last years losses.Probably of more concern is the NRL giving clubs a massive grant increase, $3mill above salary cap, and clubs still losing millions. That doesn't bode well.

Sanyo

Very easy

We didn't lose Sanyo Panasonic took a 50.2% stake in Sanyo in 2009, and by 2011 Sanyo became a wholly owned subsidiary of Panasonic.
At the time parent company Panasonic planned to terminate the Sanyo brand.
Due to the takeover the Sanyo brand couldn't extend with us.
Our deal was honoured and ran out end of 2011.

"For the past 12 seasons, we've been the major sponsor of Panthers RLFC," Sanyo's Asian group president chief executive Bill Crichton says on YouTube. "Regretfully, due to a takeover of our organisation recently, that sponsorship will now draw to a close

They did, from their first windfall. However since paying that back you have had to borrow another $5.4million which will need to be paid back from the next installment. The money from the development seems to be disappearing at a rapid pace. But ey, you've won a GF. To rack up over (allegedly) $5mill in losses in two seasons is not a good look, especially given the on field success you've had in those two seasons.

They haven’t even got one cent yet from the development
It won’t kick in until next year

Hearing from reliable folks at the Sharks that they may no longer get any payment for the development, with the NRL wanting to buy it out so the Sharks may start planning a move to Perth.

Groundbreaking.

Like I said, sht run clubs are damaging the chances of expansion so I have a vested interest in seeing how the poorer run clubs are fairing.

But less about me and Perth, and back to Cronulla and your financial woes, salary cap cheating and lack of sponsors shall we?
