Aw Shucks CJS, with hospitality like that I'll only want to stay more!!!!

Meanwhile,
that post was in the dragons forum NOT the NRL one. And the SCUM was not in bold like you've made it now.

You still said it and highlighting your reference to the Sharks being scum with bold doesn't change that you said that either.

So as I said, feel free to f**k off.

Newtown ends arrangement with Sharks
Tuesday August 9, 06:39 PM

Newtown will cut Premier League ties with Cronulla next year, ending a rugby league joint venture that lasted just one season.

Newtown has announced a five-year Premier League deal with Sydney Roosters from 2006.

Sharks chairman Barry Pierce said the new deal made "geographic sense" with Newtown sharing training facilities with the Roosters.

The Sharks said they would revert to running their own Premier League team in 2006 after "coming to a mutually acceptable arrangement" with the Jets.

It means Cronulla will have three full grades again next season - NRL, Premier League and Jersey Flegg.

"We've greatly enjoyed our association with Newtown throughout the 2005 season to date," Sharks chairman Barry Pierce said.

"We have high hopes that we can go on and hopefully win a Premier League title together this year.

"But I can understand both clubs wanting to go in a different direction from next season and we wish Newtown all the best with their new five-year agreement with the Roosters."

The Sharks are still to name a Premier League coach for next season.

Unfortunately this partnership did not work and when Cronulla and advised of the terms for next year we rejected most points as a matter of obligation in retaining our identity as well as not breaching several laws in regard to trademarks.

Let me say that Newtown did not approach other clubs in fact the Roosters had mentioned it previously but did not provide any detail until now when we advised of our requirements which they agreed. It is the same agreement as with the Sharks except for 5 years. Joint training sessions with all teams NRL, PL , Flegg and Jim beam cup (a team that the Sharks did not want to have, but allowed their juniors to play higher). Something that only happened with Premier league later in the year but not the JB cup team.

Since Cronulla like all NRL clubs name the 3 teams perhaps Bobongie, Reweti and co were not considered good enough to play until injuries hit by the sharks as were a number of their own players who were told to look elsewhere on 6 weeks ago but are now asked to talk agin with the Sharks.

It is sad this has come to this but the decision was forced on us and we only rejected the demands placed on us.

We wish the Sharks all the best in the future but I hope your club can pay for these extra players in the future. Sad but our name is not negotiable nor is our strip.

and rightly so Bluebag. The Jets have a lot longer tradition than us and should never be expected to change their trademark bluebag jerseys. Not to worry it won't discourage me from giving you support, but only at your Henson Park. All the best to you and your team for this year and beyond. I will definetly be a starter for a beer or two and a famous henson park burger at your game against souths.

I am actually curious as to Kingston. jets are paying his salary this season, so when he plays for the Sharks in first grade, does this mean the Sharks pay him while he plays there ? Or do the Jets still pay him ???

If he plays for the Sharks they have to pay him. It goes under the secondary cap.

Who is paying the Sharks kids from Flegg to play for Newtown though? Or any Sharks contracted player bought up from Jim Beam Cup?

i read somewhere that bob is a newtown contracted player. unsure of reweti

these are two guys i would be spewing about if the sharks got rid of them

I would be surprised if it wasn't Newtown Captain !! We always have paid for our players up until this season where Sharks and Jets shared the costs !! As you should know, this way it was better for both clubs, thus the deal in the first place.

Sharks bought some cheap discount signings in the forward department as were aware this was somewhere that they were, and had been lacking for sometime. Compounded by the fact that STEVENS was getting on as well. Thus they benefited greatly by doing so.

Obviously the juniors that have stepped up to first grade have also benefited greatly by the coaching of Col MURPHY. This is probably why the Sharks last two wins have been as a result of players such as MERRITT ( against the Knights ) and players such as SCOTT, CIRALDO and KINGO against the Storm ( Their biggest win all season ).

So the money the Sharks saved enabling them to purchase more signings for next season and the nurture and advancement of up and coming players under the Jets coaching resume have both been great for the Sharks. Wouldn't you agree !!! In return Newtown have been able to have players of the calibre of DUMAS, AITKIN, MERRITT, etc playing for them.

Also Sharks have had somewhere to put there junior players ( that being the Jim Beam cup squad ) ( The couple that are actually there, ) That otherwise they would not have been able to retain at all, and would have lost to other clubs completley.

Most of your points are not relevant though you keep harking back to them and I'm not going to reply to them yet again.

Have all the players been paid will be the simple question. No assumptions, no "I'd be surprised"s and no "I think so"s

Simple yes or no.

Don't answer unless you know definitively.
