Sharks on the move from Rothfield

Like not playing any games near fickle Shire residents who all they do is bag their own players?
Take the game to the bush & make a new training camp somewhere.
Playing at Kogarah, is the same as playing in the bush in NSW & you dont earn any money from it. Prob cost you because the crowds will be abysmal.

Perfect opportunity to take games on the road...see what works & what doesn’t. Dubbo, Mudgee, Bathurst, Perth, Christchurch. As long as we get paid to play there. Then pick a region & play 2 games there every year. We only average about 13000 now & run at a loss so nothing to lose.

The money doesnt just come from the bush. TV & the NRL come to the party. State governments offer grants to councils for upgrades so they can host such events.

I am not a fan of Kogarah, the ground is nit the best i understand closest, would prefer 4 venues 3 games each

Sunny Coast - i ihink good fit, rabbits only played once
Hobart - see if we can get sponsorship from Tassy govt
Dubbo - An area i think would work
Port Macquarie - sharks already there
I would also be pushing to take of those games to Toronto, play it 1st game of season we play that week before rest of round 1 extra rest, huge PR opportunity

So no home games in Sydney at all and round 1 in the middle of a snowstorm in Canada. Yeah good stuff.

Kogarah is a shit-hole but I'll probably go to half the games regardless. Will be interesting to see what they do with season ticket prices etc....they wanna get the club and ground done right so they are able to recoup some of the massive losses over the next couple of years.

Just take it on a tour for most games. Play some home games against select sydney teams at bankwest.

The membership is paid up with different reasons for purchase. If the games are played at Kogarah, the membership ticket sales will fall dramatically. What is not know is how much country memberships may increase. How much will sponsorship increase. How much corpate sales o game days will increase.
The move to Kogarah, is not going to work. It is just an easy track for managment to excuse failure.

I agree that Kogarah is not a suitable option. My preference is the SCG - a more neutral ground.

I would play the Sydney clubs plus Melbourne at the SCG and the remaining clubs elsewhere.

Cronulla has excellent support in South East QLD so a couple of games up there would work very well.

It’s a laughable scenario, almost as funny as Huawei sponsoring the Canberra Raiders, the team located in our Nations Capital.

Sunshine Coast has a much bigger population than the Sutherland shire and cities such as Bathurst, Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour are tiny in comparison.

There is a huge amount of shire expatriates up here and rugby league is well supported and the council want NRL games.

The game will sellout and I can't wait to get to the game.

Your beligerance shows your lack of Sharks history.
it doesnt bother me where the Sharks play really. But Kogarah is a dumb idea. When you walk past club & pubs in the Shire & you see people in Sharks jerseys , watching games, you know you will ahve a problem with Kogarah. & I mean there watching home games. Across the road at the golf club is full every home game. Northies, full. RSL full. Cazbah Full.
People dont go to the Sharks game because the experience is shit.
Multiply that by 100, you have Kogarah.

Kogarah IS the best idea with no SFS.
The SCG is a trainwreck. Parramatta is also a stupid idea, and with Souths, Dogs & Tigers playing there its packed. ANZ is also out with its rebuild.
So many teams are out of their home for several years.
Tying it back to some decades old bullshit and then saying all the shit places in the shire are full watching games goes to show that so many shire people are f**ked in the head, to petty to drive over a bridge.
Its almost like too many people here would rather the club go under than go to Kogarah.
Pathetic.

The closure of the Leagues Club is a huge short-term blow to finances.

If they don't have some sort of stake in those shitty apartment ghettos they've constructed & didn't make a dump truck full of money from the sale of the land surrounding the League Club then they're a even more of a bunch of dopey administrative flogs than we all knew they were anyway.

Unless someone is skimming of the top....

In conclusion f**k off out of Kogarah Oval you perpetual losers.
