Fat boy? Lol. For someone so old you seem very childish in your language.

If the nrl's goal is to have representation in Gosford they won't give a trick if it's bears, sharks or anyone else.

If NRL said tomorrow that they would support a sharks relocation and the sharks club and members decided it was acceptable and necessary and if a joint ownership was part of the deal, then I would be first in line to get a membership to the wa sharks. Why? Because I want to see the game grow and have a Perth team, unlike you who only cares about seeing the bears name back in the NRL. You don't give a sht about Gosford getting a team, only interest is bears. Fair enough that's your team but don't bleat about expansion.

Brisbane bears, CC sharks and WC pirates sound a perfect expansion result IMO.

Well arent you a smart cookie. The Bears deserve shot on the CC because of the thousands of reasons in the CCBears threads already mentioned. Wtf is the point of Brisbane Bears and CC Sharks? When the Bears have done all the hard ground work on the CC, only for the Sharks to get a free ride into the area? Why not just make it Brisbane Sharks and CCBears or WASharks and CCBears with Ipswich getting in too.

So the bit about before I knew what a RL ball was bs was just that seeing as I've been playing, following and involved in the amateur game for 35 years?

This makes no sense - if Central Coast, Brisbane and Wa are to be entered with a Shark relocation, as is a possibility, the only logical outcome if the Coast is to be included is CC Bears, Brisbane x, WA Sharks.

Surely you understand that Cronulla-Gosford is as likely a trip for fans as Cronulla-Perth....maybe 100 would go. Look how many Canterbury fans travelled to Bluetongue - not many due to travel hassle. A Shark brand won't connect with northern Sydney and its large corporate market. If you have the CC at all, it must be Bears - Gallop told the Bears that constantly. If you DON'T have the CC then yes you could have Adelaide Sharks, WA Pirates, Brisbane Bears.

Why destroy the 100+ year association of CC and Northern Sydney if you were going to bring the CC into the comp? Better to destroy the 6 month brand of Pirates than the 100+ year brand of the Bears with its multi-generational support, surely? If you're a RL fan as you state, surely this is obvious???

I'd have thought Gosford would have had more people there for an opening game of the season on a Saturday night.

Just saying.

Its obvious that if Sharks go under then it should be the Bears that come in which means that when the comp expands we dont have worry about the fact that Bears would be not included again.

Agree it becomes the logical choice

Players can relocate easily and the CC Bears are also the most advanced of all of the bids with strong infrastructure in place with NS Bears Wyong at NSW Cup level and The Entrance and Asquith at Bundy level and U18 and U16 in both CC and North's to saw upon

Add the fact that NSO and Gosford are ready for NRL games now and brand that is very well known and respected

It then allows a simple Brisbane #2 and Perth expansion in 2 years

That's all well and good but they need to convert those $$$ into bums on seats, members and tv audiences or it will be all for nothing. Just like every club has to.

For what it's worth -

In 1999 the club had a five year average (1995-1999) of 12263.

The best period in the club's history was (2002-2006) with 13512

The next period saw a decline until 2012 when the club had a five year average (2008-2012) of 12041 - which is below the 1995-1999 levels.

Clearly over the past 18 years we've seen the club peak then decline.

However - there was an upswing in 2012 and hopefully there's another one in 2013 too.

They really do need to start pulling their own weight and start consistently averaging around 15k+ within the next few years.

Not being funny but how are they going to have $30 mill in the bank when they are losing $2mill a year and running on the nrl's smallest budget? How much is the development going to bring in a year?
