Since he started in 2001, up to before the Eagles game, both teams record since

Sharks we are 13 wins 19 losses 40.63% our overall record is 146 wins, 3 draws and 176 losses for 45.38% so under Hayne we are a 4.76% worse off

Eagles are 34 wins 1 draw 16 losses under Hayne for 67.65%, overall they are 161 wins 1 draw 120 losses for 57.27%, under Hayne the Eagles are a 10.38% better winning team

So the difference in when Hayne refs us both is 15.14% swing to the Eagles that is at least 6 points.

With Shayne Hayne as a ref the team who performs best under him biggest % swing to them is you guest it the Eagles.

We are the 5th worst performing team under Hayne against overall record.

Not the referee we wanted at all

Stupid stats. Manly have been a better team over a longer period. Of course the percentage will be higher.

I agree with Dutchy.. talk about clutching at straws!

I don't like Hayne though.

Whilst I agree it is a long bow, I think you are missing the point duchy, its the difference between the stats messiah is referring to, not overall win percentage. Hayne is a merkin and we didn't get the rub of the green but we still could have won that game if we were good enough.

I did like when Gallen questioned Hayne and asked why Degois' was a knock on but Matai's was not.

Phatman is right, what i am saying ye we have not played as well as Mnaly since 2001 when Hayne came into FG, but is the percentage when Hayne is the ref in our games we win less then normal, and Eagles win more then they would without him.

It has always been the case certain refs for certain club.

Here is great example for us Ben Cummins he has been in FG since 2006.

Sharks overall record 83 wins 1 draw 112 losses 42.6%
With Ben Cummins 16 wins 10 losses 61.54%
Under Cummins we win 18.94%.

Where Manly under Cummins are 3.16% worse off

Worked it out myself:

1. 12
2. 13
3. 14
4. 5
5. 11
6. 15
7. 21
8. 14
9. 18
10. 15
11. 13
12. DNR
13. DNR
14. 17
15. DNR
16. 9
17. 7
18. DNR
19. DNR
20. 18
21. 16
22. 10
23. 15
24. 8
25. 13
26. 17
27. 15
28. 7

Leaving aside round 28 (finals week 2), games involving Hayne have had 296 penalties. He's been involved in 22 NRL games inc finals.

Average penalties blown are 13.5 (296/22)

Now a conspiracy theorist might wonder why in a game involving the second most ill-disciplined team in the comp, not only was a mere 7 penalties blown, but they won the penalty count 4-3. Only once (round 4) were less penalties blown.

Maybe Cummins is Harold's long lost nephew?

Shayne Hayne holds no love for Manly.

The 4 refs on the weekend were

Shayne Hayne
Ashley Klein
Ben Cummins
Gerard Sutton

I am going to outline below each ref and which team would benefit from them either Sharks or Eagles, against there overall record in time ref has been doing FG

Shayne Hayne ( Sharks -4.76%, Eagles +10.38% )
Ashley Klein ( Sharks - 2.40%, Eagles -0.09 )
Ben Cummins ( Sharks +18.94%, Eagles -3.16% )
Gerard Sutton ( Sharks +0.35%, Eagles + 20.19% )

So going off that and Hayne & Klein who the two officals for us we drew the 3 and 4 best options, which is typical the Eagles got 2 and 3, again why does this not surprise me.

It has been common knowledge for years the relationship the Sharks have with Hayne and it started in 2003 he was the referee which sent Peach off against Parramatta
