Has Sheens ever had the full support of the Board ie Wests and Balmain Directors?

That is the part of the Telegraph story which was most notable.

English success doesn't sell me over his mediocre attempts in Australia and his face slapping efforts....the players remember that....they majority would have grown up and watched it unfold on tv.....just like Taylor and his punch up....they are events which could easily be the catalyst to turn coaches against players and vice versa...even though they were in the past...

He should never have been appointed at the Dragons. Too young, and he had played with 90 per cent of the team he was coaching. A bad appointment from day one.

He is older now, did well in England and won't have that problem of coaching his mates.

Andrew Moore on 2GB said at 2:26 today regarding the rumours about Sheens being sacked.

My mail is it is true and the board who meet tonight will sack him.

I guess they will have more to say on the football shows tonight, Ch 9 will be interesting if Benji & Ryan are both on. Ch 10 as well to hear what Blocker says.

Mick Potter is the best choice.
I want Sheens gone but Taylor isn't a better option than Sheens.
Brown. Just flat out no. f**k off.

Any choice for coach will have their supporters and detractors. Lets just wish them luck for the moment and give them a bit of time to draw their breathe and make some intentions known.

I think the first order of call will be a hard, honest word with the senior players (Marshall, Farah & Fulton) letting it be known their strengths and weaknesses and expectations of leadership roles. They can either then get on board or go.

Next some more broom in shedding unwanted players- Blair, Tuqiri and Reddy would have to be sweating that.

Thirdly-decison on halfback required- Moltzen / Chisholm / Miller (apparently Humble has already signed elsewhere) or even someone else.

Apparently the board are meeting tonight to discuss terms for a player swap.

Brown would be good. Some people scoffing at that have no idea what he did for Huddersfield.

Prior to Browns appointment as Huddersfields coach in 2009, the club had made the finals in the top grade once since joining Superleague in 1998.

1998 was the first time Huddersfield had made into the top division since dropping to second division in 1971.

Huddersfields one finals appearance in 2007 was their first in the top division since their last premiership, in 1961/62.

In 2008 (the year before Brown arrived) they finished tenth.

Under Brown they have finished:
2009 - third
2010 - fifth
2011 - fourth

What I'm highlighting is how he took a club that had near half a century of failure and made them competition heavyweights immediately, and then maintained it.

If Sheens is sent packing then surely the board would want to interview all the candidates mentioned on here, let them make their case and appoint the best one, not just cheery pick one based on reputations and who knows who

Im not saying Taylor could do any worse but id rather see a coach with the runs on the board. All i can see is Taylor would be a cheaper option at this stage. I would really hope for Brown and Parish tho if i had the pick.

If I had to choose one I would say Brown followed by Potter.

But as long as it is not Sizzler, remember he can out coach them all, I will be happy

This will be a big prick tease. Word on the street is that Sheens has enough support on the board to survive a sacking. My bet is he will be there come round one in 2013. There is a reason he is called Teflon Tim.

Sincerely hope I am wrong because we desperately need a fresh change.

Dont depress me HB, i was thinking the prick is as good as gone.
Anyway this is the boards chance to either show some balls and back the supporters or else they they are as responsible for the downfall of this team just as much as Fonzie.

Sheens is going nowhere. The level of incompetence required to let the outgoing
coach sweep the broom, and let the new coach pick up the pieces would be something
extra special. I don't think that we have scaled these kinds of heights.

Edit: Just saw your latest post.
