Sheffield Shield 2020/21

IMO Would be ludicrous to pick him as opener for the first test in Adelaide under lights and against India at that. I wouldn't have him in the squad either. Not just yet

The kid has come back from mental health problems last season. Let him breath a bit and dominate and enjoy Shield this summer,

If we have failures first two tests, possibly an option to draft him in for MCG and SCG test squads? even then do we want to expose him to too much pressure after what he went through last season

He definitely makes the squad, It’s extended because of Covid. Last I heard they’re talking 18-19 blokes.

There’s no shield cricket when the tests are on either, so it’s a plus just to get him in the squad around the team.

As of right now, Marcus Harris has a higher season batting average than Pucovski ..

But smart arse stats aside...

Even more impressive given that the Victorians have had a delayed start, quarantined etc..

Pucovski is making it almost impossible not to pick him for the test team, however I’m not sure they’ll get him opening if they do. I get the feeling that Matthew Wade might be the one to drop off to make way for him.

The other thing with Pucovski (other than coming back from mental health) he has been batting on roads

SMarsh sent them in yesterday , and the deck did absolutely FA

Last week against the pop gun SA attack where Harris also dominated

I like the kid, reckon he will play 100 tests. But I’m a bit hesitant throwing him in the side right now. As HH mentioned maybe as part of the squad when no Shield games are on, build him in slowly

SILK 100 not out

On ya son

Batting average of 30.00 (60 matches) may go up just a little after this performance

Opening for Tassie has probably cost him with his average, those green tops down there can be difficult. Still I think he’s underperformed for his talent.
