oh and btw the 100 mill rupiah is a reflection on the street worth of 4kg of hydro in Bali (grade 1 narcotics)...

Any idea what the street value is over here?

how dare those nasty slanty eyes find "our" schapelle guilty of a crime in their jurisdiction

aussies should be exempt from foreign laws

I have to agree with you on this one millersnose
If she was set up - well it sucks - but it is still up to her defence team to prove they weren't hers. The evidence was that they opened her bag and it had a bag of pot in it - they have not proved it wasn't hers.

I heard they wanted to test it to see if it was from Indonesia or not - if such a test was possible but they weren't allowed then that is pretty bad for her. From what I read it sounded like it looked more like hydro grown in Australia

I am glad she didn't get the death penalty

If only Australia was as tough on drugs as Indonesia - the problems in this country would be sorted out quick smart

maybe but at least we would give these people a fair trial before we found them guilty.

What a messed up legal system...

why?

not much different from ours

people who get busted with drugs in their possesion here rarely get off when they claim its not theirs

to me while their evidence certainly wasn't enough to convince me it wasn't hers it certainly was enough to put reasonable doubt in my mind. Does the indonesian system work on a principle of reasonable doubt = not guilty in criminal case's?

Quite different to ours actually Millers.

There would be no jury in Australia that would have found her guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

I wanted to post this here as most formers view this forum.

She has been found guilty and sentenced to 20 years in jail, with an appeal to be logged before next wednesday.

what are your views?

I think it is disgusting. Even if she was really guilty it is not worth 20 years that is her whole life and she may as well get the death penalty as 20 years in bali is just as good as it.

I am so angry at the moment an di hope bali loose all of australias support and tourism as i know i will never go there in my life.

If Australian drug laws were similar to Indonesian drug laws, it would be impossible for an Australian jury to find Corby not guilty, as mere proof of posession/ownership of the bag is enough to establish guilt. Given that she never denied the bag was hers, any knowledge of the drugs or intent on her part was irrelevant.

I reckon this will seriously affect the tourism industry in Bali.

only in the short term
value for holiday buck/money [in the form of cheap flights n accomodation] talks to most

the company that 'glad wraps' your cases for $16 at the airports should float on the asx!

My view.
They could have put the Corby verdict on another day.
It might wipe the Gold Coast announcement off the front page.
or the NRL could have ............

Judges were a joke in just dismissing all her friends statements.

Indo's are a joke full stop.

She should've just killed some Aussies. Would've got less.
