I've only used em when shopping at big W or somewhere and just grabbing a couple of things. It looks so annoying trying to scan a whole shopping cart and bagging them yourself. I've wondered how it works for fruit which doesn't have a barcode. Is the technology so good that it can tell the difference between an apple and a watermelon? Seems like a loophole to get away with a few free or cheaper items.

I've use to work at a major supermarket and the number of people we saw put things in their jackets, bags, even under a hat, we would tell our supervisor they would stand back and watch them. They get to the check-out and allowed to walk out, because the supervisor are not allowed to approach them, and they know it so they just run and get away with it. It's because they were able to recongise Osbourne he was charged.

Geeze I hate those self serve scanners.

At Rosehill, they basically force you to use them by only having a couple of registers open. All about saving a bit of change for their shareholders

If the barrister that the eels got for Hayne can get him off that headbutt, getting Ozzy off this trumped up stupid charge would be a snap.
In fact, if the NSW police DONT withdraw the charge, then Ozzy should sue the police officer concerned and the NSW Police.

Just received a press release - he forgot to swipe his card and didn't realise until two cops turned up at his door.

sh*t happens - I've done the same thing myself.
