Beale should come in for Ricky, he has played very well on that side in the past. Bird and Val have proven they work together and will only get better with time.

Was 'injured', and I think flanno was easing him back into it via the bench. But now I'm not so sure. Maybe he just realised its not suitable to run an outside back on the bench...
Maybe someone on the inner tube knows more?

Not injured now...

Beale has no injury concern with Sharks NRL Coach Shane Flanagan keeping his cards close to his chest about his plans for the Kiwi outside back. Beale was on the interchange bench for the Sharks v Storm match last Monday but didn’t get any time on the field.

That's from the Sharks site - Link

Seems ludicrous having a player on the bench getting SFA game time.

Should be in NSW Cup getting match fit.

loots needs space to shine

he is often too cramped to be effective because wade plays too wide at times

play wade tighter, give loots the ball earlier and i think we really see what he has got

he has great footwork and he is quite good at getting resonable yardarge off our own line

the negativity of the left side is unwarrented, they are being run out of room

Here's the story I got.

Flano was 100% serious about playing Bird at fullback rd 1 but was talked out of it at the 11th hour by the rest of the coaching staff. Bird only plays on the right so he slots in for Beale, who at the time had a minor calf twinge anyway. That means there is a new edge pairing of Townsend/Bird/Val that didn't really train together much. The reason he didnt want to shift Beale to the left is that it would mean there's another edge in Maloney/Beale/Feki that didn't train together either. Makes sense when you think of it that way.

well, he's gone and cemented the position now

and its great

and birdy is fine where he is.

like I said, its good that we have backs who are atleast first graders. remember when we had Taulima Tautai and f**kn Isaac Gordon?

Wade definitely uses up too much room out on that edge but maybe he just doesn't have the confidence in his outside man to pass. He definitely has no problem turning it back inside to barba or Maloney.

This. The fact we are squabbling about Beale (who is a quality first grader missing out) and that's our biggest issue tells me we are in a bit of a golden period at the moment.

I'm loving the way we are playing. Hard, aggressive. We are bullying teams and on top of that players like Barba and Chad are scoring some beautiful long range tries.

Smell the roses people!
