John Brady from the NRL just said on 2GB that it is not going to happen. End of story.

I was offered to go with a few friends who are all Saints supporters after last weeks games. I said no because I didn't want to go if Saints were going to play the broncos.
I'm sure there were lots of Tigers fans who were in a similar position to me. If thats the case, you would think that saints will have 30,000 fans out of the 40,000 seats, only because Saints had a whole week to buy the tickets unopposed.

If there is a ground that could hold double the spectators, then isn't it perfectly logical to shift the game?

Rubbish. It wasn't even a sellout today and you reckon 50,000 will be turned away next week?

The crowd was over 36,000 - and Brisbane didn't contribute many spectators.

Hence Wests will supply in excess of 30,000 - even more so given they're even closer to the Grand Final, and the Dragons are everywhere.

Well, Dragons fans deserve priority for being #2. So in theory, seeing as its already just about sold out, it WILL be a Dragons home game.

I GUARANTEE if the Tigers had this week off, and the Dragons won today, no-one would be calling for a change of venue.

Its just because the Tigers are pulling at your heart strings, its a fairytale and good luck to em, but the venue should not, and will not be changed.

Definately should swap the venues! Seriously, the Cowboys V Parra game won't be affected because 90% of their fans are gonna be Parra fans either way... theres no way you'll get 80,000 parra fans at Telstra stadium, so how on earth could you not swap venues? If your arguing that it takes away a "home" game for the dragons, then thats just bullsh*t! The fact that it's a semi final and being played away from both teams ACTUAL home grounds means that you'll get tonnes of supporters from both fans.

"Home ground advantage???? It gives the tens of thousands of St George supporters who won't be able to get tickets... GET THEM!!!! I already got my tickets, so either way i'm sweet!!"

That's the whole point; you've got them, I've got them, thousands (literally) of Saints fans have already got them.....Why give a sucker (Tigers) an even break?

BTW, John Brady just said it aint happenin, partly because so many have already been sold.

Logic and sense have nothing to down with emotion. Moving the game would be a logical decision.

I doubt you would get that many more because they are closer to the GF. The bandwagon has been overflowing for weeks. The game still hasn't sold out yet, and all the Saints supporters have already bought their tickets, and plenty of hopeful Tigers fans would have bought some in advance, so you might be looking at 20,000 missing out at most. 50k is just a bit of wishful thinking.

Totally selfish attitude. You could get a Rugby League semi final with 80'000 people to it!!! How could you not want that??? If you have any faith in your team, then you wouldn't mind having a 50-50 crowd.

Id prefer the atmosphere at aussie stadium since the game wont get as many but why would people prefer to drive or travel an extra 40-45 minutes and have all the hassles.

I wouldnt mind the change but if people dont want it changes you cant blame them. People have seats and tickets at both games. Ticket issue would be the big downfall.

If they move it to telstra, I guarantee it'll get at least 65,000. Parra will get 25,000 tops... why wouldn't you want to change it.

Of coruse the games should be switched.

Common sense....its something the games administrators have a history of lacking, but hopefully they can get the deal done and move the games to the better venues.

If the Broncos had won today, would anyone had been calling for a change of venue?? No, I don't be thinking so .. so why, all of a sudden, is this push for a change of venue?? It's the luck of the draw, it was decided MONTHS ago where the semi's would be held, so just put up with it.

"Antarctic Dragon" - what an appropriate name for someone completely aloof from reality. The venue change is so we can increase ticket sales and have a huge spectacle!

Thankfully there were enough visionary people in the game to punt teams like University and St George, let's hope they're around now to swap venues.
