This new kid Dane Lawrie. Only a rookie, a big fella aswell, he was absolutely in everything, he ran the ball so hard, try saving tackles and was a decoy a lot of the time, and if those passes went to him he would have had 30+ hitups.

I can see Wicks really being a very good player, but I think this year is over for him. Too late to fix his issues.

I'm not saying this because we lost, as I've been saying it when we win too: I am sick of seeing Keith Lulia in a First-Grade Newcastle jumper. He can do the odd okay thing, but he makes more mistakes and bad judges than he doesn't.

I'm not one for jumping on a bandwagon, but I would like to see Akuila Uate on the wing and bring James McManus into the centres in place of having Lulia in the team.

Exactly, I dont think he will come in and do all these great things..

I just see it as a better option than having the likes of Lulia in when we can move McManus to centre and Uate on the wing and that would probably be just as effective if not better.

I've been saying for a long time now both Wes and Lulia are garbage...

Bailey is pretty craptastic as well and Wicks well played one decent game, scored one good try and does crap all... Pity really...

We NEED to see Aku in action... HOWEVER since he signed a contract and all, Smith has a bit more leeway (spelling) and more time before giving him FG OR he might have included in that deal that Aku will get FG soon, hopefully the latter...

I like everybody else is sick and tired of stupid penalties and dropped balls... I dont understand how we got so bad, we werent this bad before in these departments right?

I don't get why everyone hates on wes and keith so much.I agree that wes isn't much of a fullback,he just seems to show no urgency,whether its chasing or returning a kick.But as a centre he is absolutely head and shoulders above anyone else at our club.As for keith,i thought he was pretty good.Sure he should've thrown the ball inside to jimmy but what else did he do wrong?His defence is always solid,i thought it was jimmys bad which caused matais try.He just seems to be everyones whipping boy whenever we lose,i think he has way more upside than sau.

Lets stop ragging on the team so much...now don't call me Hagan but last year (or at any other time without Buderus & Johns playing for us) we would've gotten pasted by any team in the top 4 like Manly. In fact does anyone remember the equivalent game against Manly last year??? If we had the same team, same attitude and same loss of rep players now as then we would've had 50 points put on us AGAIN.

I think I said at the start of the year that we will finish around 8-10th, if we achieve this it will be far and away a much more successful year than 07, and to manage that with such a new team, and a team of rookies at that is quite a reasonable accomplishment.

On Lulia - its not like he got to see any ball the other night, but of course when he did what I saw was pretty crap...anyway you can't really give it to him or half the team as we spent most of the night defending our guts out and when we did have the ball, Manly have one of the best defenses in the comp.

Seriously though, and this might just be my opinion on things, but the start of the season for us was sensational. We hit the ground running and with a bit more luck (I know you make your own luck and we haven't had a great deal of it this year), we could have been 5-0 after 5 rounds. Unfortunately it wasn't to be and it really sums up the year for mine - near enough, but not quite good enough. Our defence over the last couple of weeks IMO has lacked the intensity we became semi "accustomed" to in the first half of the year and it looks like other teams have us figured out when it comes to our attack. There is just no unpredictability in it, whether thats something as simple as one of our halves using a simple show and go, or some second man plays or just something along those lines.

I know our team is inexperienced and only young, but what is starting to annoy me is that I know we're a much better side than our position on the table indicates. As mentioned, stupid penalties, forced passes and simple catches of the football are our undoing.
