Anyone heard any more on his injury and recovery? Last I heard he needs more surgery so is he buggered for next year?

I don't get to see the 20's or Magpies/BRET much so do we have anyone new coming through who might plug this gap or do we need to go shopping? All of a sudden Blair might be a second row (Dwyers replacement), so if he was bought as a prop are we in effect now down a prop or are some of the young guys able to fill the gap? I like Groat, Woods and still not so sure on BMM.

Interested to know your thoughts on (is it spelt ) Bergovic? Never seen him in the flesh (so to speak).

BMM, Mosese F from U20s scored two tries last night, we also have Brendan Santi (Aust Schoolboys lock) and Andrew Vela (Aust Schoolboys 2nd row from Keebra). Vela is a good runner.

Good player, I rate him as highly as Groat.

Hopefully he gets full use of the Wests Tigers rehab facilities and staff, it could see him return ahead of time.

The fact Lawrence returned this year after his hip injury is mind blowingly rapid rehabilitation.

Its very possible he could miss next season (still able to do fitness training etc with the boys) and could be close to a return in 2013.

But obviously first and foremost is that he recovers from this injury and is able to live a normal life after the operation.

Rugby League is not the most important thing here right now for Simon.

Saw the interview then on the footy show, still consulting including some stem cell nonsense. Sounds like he's going to have to have the nerve graft, very iffy op in terms of outcomes.

So more than likely his career is over, even if he was lucky enough to get back close to full function it takes a couple of years.

I hope his arm comes good or good enough and he is spared living with a devestating injury and is pain free. Seems like a really genuine young bloke.

I saw Simon being interviewed by Freddie Fiddler and he was a down to earth bloke who was only beginning to tap his capabilities and presence on the football field (that tackle on Waerea-Hargraves just keeps resurfacing thankfully). Unfortunately I do not think there are good odds he will play again - he has to be No.1 priority and the best of luck to him.

Saw him at Macarthur Square today.

Arm still in a sling and has lost a bit of size which is understandable.

Hope he gets back to play for you guys.

I remember when he was a little squirt in high school then i saw him after he played SG Ball for Wests and dead set thought he was on the juice.

WESTS TIGERS forward Simon Dwyer believes his dream of returning to the NRL remains alive after his nerve graft surgery was hailed a success.
A cloud has hung over the promising career of the City Origin representative since he suffered a brachial plexus injury against Canterbury in round 16. After enduring a marathon 16-hour surgery - and a week of recovery time in hospital - Dwyer has been discharged to begin the long road to recovery.
''It was good. The doctors found I still had a bit of a C5 nerve still there. They used that and didn't have to cut my legs open, so they were pretty happy with themselves,'' Dwyer told The Sun-Herald. ''It was successful, so we'll wait and see.


''I should start getting some feeling back [in my arm] between six and three months. Then you get feeling on from there for up to two years. I won't be playing next year but I might be a chance the following year. That's a good outcome, I guess.''
Emerging from surgery ''groggy and with blisters everywhere'', Dwyer is yet to regain any feeling in his arm. The 22-year-old will remain in a sling for the next three weeks but will begin physiotherapy shortly afterwards. Dwyer, a member of Ricky Stuart's Blues-in-waiting squad, said it was difficult to helplessly watch the Tigers' premiership run from the sidelines.
''It wasn't the best, especially the loss against the Warriors at the last minute,'' he said.
Dwyer had researched several radical therapies and even contemplated a stint at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Texas. ''Mainly, all the guys were talking about the same thing,'' he said. ''Going overseas, it would have been a similar surgery. They mentioned a few other things that didn't add up, I did a bit of research on them and there was no proof.'' Asked if he believed he could play and regain the form that had him tagged as one of the brightest young forwards in the game, Dwyer said: ''Yeah, I do. If I get my strength back.''
The Ingleburn Bulldogs junior made special mention of Tigers coach Tim Sheens, manager Gavin Orr and his former Magpies lower-grade coach John Jacobs for their support.
