Damn!!! we missed out on Jacob Loko from Parra, he is off to the Bulldogs.
He was one centre I really wanted at the Dragons, he is big, strong and has good pace for a big man... Why do the Bulldogs seem to sign everyone under the sun? when we are struggling to find a decent prop, I don't get it! is it a financial situation or are the Dogs are just plain cheating????

How do the bullgrubs seem to have enough forwards to fill two first grade teams? Surely they will have to start letting some go-I know they have let the menace go, but still doesn't explain.

Runnish!!!
Creagh has been our second best forward all year after Merrin, particularly since moving to prop. Any way you want to look at it...his numbers are right up, his effectiveness in attack and defense is through the roof, he is leading the team, you can see the difference when he is on compared to when he is off.
And I'll not hear you speak ill off Matt Cooper, even in his last year he could match it with the best, baring injury.

Lol...
Yeah he has been our second best forward... But the bar is set pretty low at the moment, and in my opinion Creagh won't cut it next season, hence my comment let him a go a year early rather than a year too late..
And as for cooper you actually agreed with me.... My comments were in regards to him being injured numerous times late in his career, I think most people knew his body wasn't going to hold up in 2013 and therefore sentiment shouldn't get in the way of common sense.
I agree his form was never in question when he was on the field, but that simply wasn't enough

I was criticised for calling for hornby to go a year before he did and look how that played out for hornby playing a season too long ... He was awful in his last season ..

Perhaps smart use of third party deals?

Yeah I sort of figured that would be an answer the Dogs would give aswell but surely we could do the same thing. Is everyone at the dogs getting these '3rd party deals'? why don't we offer everyone 3rd party deals? instead of signing O'Brien we could have signed Kasiano or Burgess. Get JEEPor MOMENTUM ENERGY to 3rd party deal everyone.

These bulldog deals are dodgy as f**k, I just think they are not worried about getting caught or nothing. Storm style

Creagh is the only candidate for captain at the moment, and rhe only senior/leader forward stepping up and paving the way. Im more than happy to keep him on for the length of this contract. End of next yearz maybe he should be weighing up options.

You didn't mention Coops being injury prone, you said he played a year too long. I disagree, I'm glad he was there last year, for his experience and leadership around the outside back as much as anything. By all reports, he had a great influence on Runciman and Dugan.

Completely disagree about Creagh. He's not just our best prop, he's one of the form props in the comp - and he's only been playing there a month.

I hate to agree but your right. He gets to the advantage line quicker and more often than most props. I think he has a bit more pace than most and uses it well. Seems to have cut out his errors, maybe he was trying too hard before

The Knights have just announced the signing of tariq Sims on a 2 year deal. You would assume with their current recruitment drive Bennett will remain there.

Not necessarily. Tariq was going to the Knights anyway because of his brother. He said the future of Bennett had nothing to do with his decision.

I think it's time Doust does another one of his video's and explains why we couldn't sign a good player who was a junior and wanted to come back? With players to be shed we must of had room in the cap unless there are negotiations going on behind closed doors for a big prop

it is really frustrating, it feels like we have never actually landed a genuine first grade quality player that is being competed for. I'm assuming it's dousts approach to not paying overs, but I thought we were kind of desperate for that big big named prop.

P. S. I know widdop is sort of the 1 exception, but even he was a relative unknown/gamble, and his signing was a clever one before competition heated up.

Tough decisions need to be made over the current makeup of our first grade squad, as i have posted previously there is about 8 players we need to move on... Including guys like Hunt. This will free up enough cap to venture into the player market again. I think the purchase of Marshall chewed up any free cap we had, so we are now stuck in regards to purchasing any forwards of quality until some players are moved on.
But the question is does the club have strong enough leadership to make these decisions. I think not..
Add to this some of those players that should have been moved on still have 12 months left on current deals due to previous poor recruitment, so the club may have placed itself in a tricky situation in regards to smart use of the salary cap...

Tariq never once made any mention of what club he wanted to come back to it was assumed being a Local jr that it would be the Dragons.

All's he wanted was to come back closer to family and that was NSW who knows what offer the Dragons actually made if they made any at all.

We all know they made inqueries about M Kennedy a prop and TLL another prop so it goes to show what their intenstions are to find a prop.

Harrison, Mathews, Groat, Ailaomai and Mataka all forwards with Harrison being on good coin you could find a prop who would take what money he is on.

Everything now is based on who the coach might be and what players they choose not to retain.

I will agree that the coaching situation (particularly pre june 30 when we were at our lowest), didnt help our purchasing chances... but if we can play well for the remainder, it might be easier to sign blokes @ end of year..

Doust said they had been looking at Widdop for a cpl years so they made sure they were in a position to secure him. Thompson is improving every game and Cooper has been a solid signing and errors aside Benji creates opportunities that we haven't had a No.7 do in recent memory. I didn't intend to be harsh on Doust but from the outside looking in I tht Tariq was a big signing for us and with Harrison coming off contract and a few to be moved on it should've have happened. The variables being we have already over spent, Tariq wanted too much after 2 major injuries or Doust has a Kasiano type in his sights. Obviously he can't spill the beans b4 things happen but it doesn't stop my need to know lol

I said that 2015 we would be contenders and surprise a few ppl this year and run 5th even though we were touted as bottom 4. When i said that i assumed JMoz would return next year and we would aquire a marque prop. I also assumed Stockwell would have a breakout year but hes been injured most of it. Sticking with Price for as long as we did not only hurt us this year but also next. Don't get me wrong I wasn't screaming for his sacking but more the issues he should address and when it came to the last straw I was in favour of a replacement.

I still think we'll make the 8 and with Frizell and Bmoz to return sides won't take us lightly in the finals. In regard to Doust, we really don't know what's in the future and the way the current and future cap is allocated so as frustrating as it is we have to put some blind faith in but an explanation is still warranted after the fact. I want to hear why we didnt sign Tariq
