Sounds promising
Ken Davy is 83, he'd better get a move on!

Trl or twitter

I’ll have a look around again
Stadium is jointly owned so I doubt the soccer team can dictate anything, at least at the moment.
Ownership is 40% council, 40% soccer, 20% Giants. There is battle going onbetween Davy and the FC owner for control of it as council want out. Id suggest this is where the threat to move it is coming from.

Pretty sure the giants lost their share ages ago but maybe it’s Davy who owns it

apparently 3 sites lined up and initial capacity 8k

maybe they should go back to fartown lol

Davy has the money to make this happen it’s just the giants aren’t that critical to super league and if they died off opens up a spot to a club with better potential

It’s a crying shame that RL is a niche sport in the town that was the birthplace of the sport.

Great news for RL and England internationals in particular and possibly magic weekend.

When Leeds utd were in administration a while back the ground sold for like eight million pounds Including training grounds

Rhinos have had 50 million spent on headingly in comparison when they could bought Elland rd and saved 40 million and had Leeds utd as a tenant to boost

Yeah but how much were Leeds Utd in debt though back then?

They make a mint from headingly.

Doesnt mean that out of Headingly and Elland Rd that Headingly isnt the better investment.
8 million for 43k capacity
60 million for 20k capacity

Plus Leeds utd as a tenant

Rhinos fans would be sooked about being in hunslets territory then their crowds would’ve grown to 30k

the reality is Elland rd is well past its used by date and would need a significant investment in it to get it up to modern standards. With one championship club tenant I wouldnt be buying it and having to spend hundred million+ on getting it to where it needs to be, no matter how cheap. Headingly with the cricket, league and events turns over a nice revenue stream for the rhinos.

Headingly is a poor ground even after the renovation

The two sided stand which cost a lot don’t increase capacity and was more for the benefit of cricket

The away supporters terrace is a joke

They should’ve sold the lot not just the cricket ground

When people say headingingly is only for cricket hardly anyone knows they have a rugby team
